- Hachiko, the legendary Japanese akita, proves that there is nothing more loyal than mans best friend in this modern retelling of a cherished true story. It all begins when a college professor adopts an abandoned dog named Hachiko. The two form such a strong bond that Hachiko walks with the professor to the train station each morning and returns to the station each evening to walk the professor home again. The routine continues until one day the professor does not return to the train station. Hachiko, however, does not give up. He returns to the same train station at the same time, faithfully waiting for his owner to return. Hachiko does this for more than nine years, until his own death. This heartwarming tale that is already the stuff of legend in Japan is finally making its way to America by way of prominent director Lasse Hallström. With an equally capable cast, the experience of Hachikos unending loyalty is certain to stay with you. Hachikos story is one of love, unwavering devotion, and the resounding impact one dogs affection can make.

It's Akita dog.The most beautiful dog,a loyality and friendship symbol forever. I'm very sad every time when I see this movie. The most beautiful story,what the human people never can be offer: love and friendship unconditionally.
Most beautiful dog is relative, other's find that pitbulls symbolizes the hardship when hate/anger/ emotions are difficult to overcome and when it is, you have something so beautiful that you eliminated hate entirely.

This movie stirred emotions I didn't even know I had... I've never cry during a movie, but I teared up with this one. Seeing Hachi go to the train station even when he was tired, old and probably in pain, shows how he placed his loyalty before his own well being. Such loyalty only to be surpassed by God himself...
Made me appreciate my dog so much more... we give them the love time and space we have left to spare... they give us all they have.. Lets love them they way they deserve....
Once you finally have an Akita the story becomes very clear. I've rescued my third Akita and the bond of loyalty & friendship has made me so grateful to have them in my life.

It’s so sad :( Like the dog waited 9 YEARS for his owner to come back not knowing he was dead. The dog must have been so dedicated to see his owner one last time. It makes me wanna cry. Just think about it in the dogs perspective.
I still cry when I watch all these clips of Hachi. It is a universal story. I am glad to know that Hachi is being acknowledge in Japan, and all around the world. Dogs are the best friend and companion you can have. I am still grieeing for my dog (Baby), she was everything to me and still she means my light and guide of my life. I miss you so much Baby !!!

He wanted to be there, he wanted to be at that station, the one true owner who raised him was the only reason he stayed at that station everyday even after his master passed on, he didn’t want another master other than him, no other individual had loved him as much as he did. Other than the fact that he wanted to be in the last place he ever saw his master he was ready to eventually pass on as well, remembering his one true master as he last saw him. True hatchiko looked Heartbroken and probably was, but part of me likes to believe that he was satisfied with how he lived his life, and knowing his master probably was never coming back to see him, meant that his time had come as well because he felt he had nothing else to live for. In a way hachiko died more of heart break than anything else.

I watched this movie twice in 2021. I still cried my eyes out. The beauty is that at the end, Parker's spirit comes to pick up Hachi to be together forever in the spirit world.

I remember this story from so many years ago and it stuck with me throughout the years. Today it came to mind and I searched it up, I never forgot a single thing about this story, I remember it like it was yesterday.

This was an amazing movie that my daughter and I watched together. Of course tears were flowing and we didn't realize it was based on a true story until the end.
my family has now since 20years Japanese akitas and I cried on this remake.But honestly look for the original japanese movie of Hachiko and it breaks your heart and you won't stop crying your eyes out 😭😭😭😭💔💗

The most amazing movie I've ever seen; a story of eternal love...A love like no other!! Absolutely beautiful, its hard to control ur tears wen ur watching it...! Hachi has shown the true meaning of unconditional love and loyalty, and he cant be compared to even human companions who are unpredictable and ungrateful. If u haven't watched the movie, u better watch it rite away and if u don't have a dog...u sure have missed out on the best part of life!!
My family and I have only seen the film once and for good reason.
Our own dog who was an Akita like Hachi died a year or two before we watched the film and it has been the only time we all cried at the same time.
The film reminded us of why we loved our dog and why we don’t deserve dogs in our lives.
Wonderfully powerful film but always have a box or three of tissues.
And a hundred years later he's still remembered ❤

I watched this movie when I was 12 and when I was that age I lost my Best friend then someone recommended this movie to me , then after I watched it, it completely shattered my heart 💔 because it reminded me of the good beautiful times I had with him 🐕 then I tried to move on but couldn’t and realized nothing last forever and finally accepted faith and till this day I still can’t forget him but I will always remember him as my true loyal best friend 😔
How anyone could dislike this is completely mad. This is a beautiful tribute to the true story and the movie of Hachiko. It's so emotionally triguring I love it. The way this tribute is put together flows prefectly, showing enough to get the viewer attatched and by the end; most likey, crying.

This is the saddest, and the most heartfelt movie I have ever seen. I cried so deeply. I know animals grieve and no idea their grief is so deep. I do not want this for my animals at all. I pray when I go, they do not grieve like this.
i lost my dog today i use to cry when listening to this song when she was with me just the thought of her leaving oneday broke my heart and now that she is gone i dont know what to do she was one of the things at the centre of my universe,i never took her for granted i was late for work today because i just wanted to spend quality time with her as usually i would take her with me and after work we would visit the park for a walk and a swim,i just loved sitting with her and patting her with her head on my lap in the mornings but now she is gone,i never forgot to say goodbye to her and i thank GOD for every moment HE gave her on earth,thankyou GOD i loved her so much , thankyou for creating a world full of good things and sad things to remind us of why we should always love and cherish,thankyou for enabling us to love your creation and our pets the way we do and may you bless and remember us all who endeavour to provide warmth and love in this world

There's 6 statues of hachi. One is at the university of Tokyo. One where he waited. Once where he would go for food. One in his oringal hometown. One by the train tracks where its hanchi running to see his master. And there's another close by where hanch died. I searched it up after I watched the movie today. I have never cried so much . I cried during the whole movie bc I knew what bound to happen :(

tremendous movie, made me cry like little baby. dogs are such an unbelievable species and there is so much that we can learn from them. nobody will ever be more loyal to you than they are, nobody will ever respect you, love you, be there anytime like they would be, dog is ready to give away his life for you. love your dogs or any other anymal you have and show them love because once you lose them you will be sorry that you haven't give them more of youreself.
