To further confuse things, this indicator has also been spotted on some Otis Concept 200s with zero EPL nor Kone involvement whatsoever, unless they carried out the mod. Now how's that for confusing.
Having said that, I think it's more likely to be some transitional indicator between the VFD and LED variants of Otilec. The font is identical to the former.
