In the end elder toguro is truly subdued and the sinning tree (A plant too). Unable to kill him but will suffer constant pain in eternity.

The Elder Toguro actor is also the main antagonist in S1 of 'Love You As The World Ends' and he seems to be great in doing the 'psychotic villain' roles.

In fairness, Elder Toguro's psychotic tendencies made him more unpredictable and a more formidable opponent. At least with Toguro, he abides with certain rules.
It's going to be extra creepy when he takes over Gormet and the sinning tree will be just creepy
It's kinda the same reason why somehow, people are more at ease with Omni-man than with Homelander, even though the first is far stronger than the second.

OMG!! Kuwabaraaaaa!!! My favourite character. He's the only ordinary human with spirit energy even higher than Yusuke. His role is the 2nd male lead but that's his charm..
This needed another 5 episodes and it would be a solid 9/10.
Yea they rushed through it too fast they should have just done the the spirit detective arc and saved the dark tournament arc for next season.
Ya 10-15 episodes per arc would be perfect if paced right.

This was an amazing scene love all of them Elder Toguro was wow just watch and you’ll know. The series was over so soon only 5 episodes. The fight scenes were beautifully executed probably one of best series on Netflix. I don’t really watch Manga but this live action adaption was thrilling. I understand die hard fans may have some negative reviews as this show changed the story line slightly but coming from someone who’s new to this and carry no expectations I must say I loved every minute
They skipped alot of arcs and characters, while i understand some being cutted due being generic
This battles only occur i the tournament which is after a few arcs
Am a fan of the anime YYH but because I know that it will only have 5 eps, I understand the changes. Regardless, it's impressive.

The sound effect of the Spirt Sword is freakin' cool. Obviously sounds like a Lightsaber, but sounds different enough to be just as cool.

you can really hate the elder toguro and at the same he is terrifying. he is the most despicable villain. One of the cult villains that has ever made.

The live-action Yu Yu Hakusho seems to have tried to tell a self-contained story within five episodes that would not necessarily ask for a sequel. The pacing of the Netflix series is relatively close to that of the two movies, with the first half covering Yusuke’s journey as a Spirit Detective looking for the three artifacts, and the second half covering the rescue of Yukina. However, the live-action show still incorporates key fights that were only supposed to happen much later in the story, essentially killing any chances of a Dark Tournament adaptation. With Toguro and Genkai both dead already, the story cannot properly continue.
It was a strange choice, it seems they don't think about doing s2 :o
They only want it to boost the anime & manga sale
They knew that when they make long series, it will not sell well in the long run because the anime itself has boring & hype arcs. They pick all of the hype arcs & combine it
it will be different with One Piece & Naruto that need so many seasons
Honestly, the anime's pace is seems too slow for LA series standard. Also, major villains before Toguro (Like Rando and Suzaku, Hiei doesn't count) kinda less interesting for adaptation. Toguro-Sakyo is already the best choice.
This was a cash grab, season two all depends on numbers not story. They're not above pulling Yusuke's demon heritage out of nowhere if it had the audience.
Well am a anime fan of that part, live action was crammed but it was good, fighting sequence was top notch. 2 are different but very likeable. Give it a 7 for now.
The only complaint that I have on this adaptation is the pacing. Season 1 should have been dedicated to the backstories of the characters and how they come together before meeting the Toguro brothers so that the audience could relate and care about them. Season 2 should have been dedicated to the Genkai and Dark Tournament arcs if they want to shake things a bit with Dark Tournament as a battle royale with the last one standing will fight the Toguro Team.

@AkuGMC You know buddy I agree. Crammed but once you have make due with live actors and everything that gose behind it well chap everyone what's a PIECE! Unfortunate this anime or Manga has exceed our long life commitments. Live adoptions this one is a very much loved PIECE!
@griver007able Not that simple buddy. I know I will like ice cream everyday but make due with what you working with. Same like this script. They the actors, writers, the amount of time and money 💰 . It's satisfying they made it work. Acting was Brilliant 👏.

Only thing I dislike about kuwabara…his hair isn’t blonde, it’s ginger red/brown. Other than that, 🔥

Though it was too short for me. The adaptation worked well. If there is a second season I hope for more episodes. While the main fights were brought out for this. If we are to do a Dark Tournament, they might have to rework a few things. If we do have the classic four against four. It would have to be fresh and incorporate new life. Seeing as Bui supposedly survived the aftermath of the D.T, maybe he can revive the others or Elder Toguro if he lived through being shot put by his brother. I'm saying it's possible if handled correctly, in a sense they have used what they could and it worked but if green lit for more. They might have to redo it or just jump into Chapter Black.
Well now we know the power difference between elder toguro and younger Toguro, it's a big difference lol 😆

I'm glad this was handled in Japan and not in the US. That being said, I doubt a company in the US would pick it up because it's not popular enough. Even with so-so CGI, it's awesome and very true to the source material.

Interesting. For those who are unfamiliare, there is another anime/manga called Parasyte (Parasite deliberately misspelled). Elder Toguro comes off as very similar.

Yeah...I was surprised they only had 5 episodes! So they had to squeeze the spirit detective and dark tournament saga into one. I honestly don't know how I feel about that.
It honestly feels like they just wanted cool fight scenes which they did deliver with, but didn’t care about development the characters get on the Arcs they skipped.

@@bunnyfreakz They could still do that but the problem is that they are gonna have to downplay Toguro here making him weaker than the Four Saint Beasts, which is an insult if that’s not already enough with his dynamic with Genkai being shafted along with Genkai’s greatest moments in the tournament with it.

It is unfortunate, but the pacing for anime just generally doesn't work well with serialized tv shows like this. It is what it is.
