drwladimirdr You know that the Croatian Ustaša militia killed more Serbians than the occupation of the Ottomans. Study history properly and hate those that really did injustice to your people during WW2. During the Ottoman occupation, a lot of Serbs and Croats plus other ethnic groups collaborated with the Ottomans to steal and kill from their people to get money and rewards from the Ottoman rulers. Unfortunately, it is your people who did the most cruelty towards your own people. I am not saying that the Ottoman rulers were not saints but as I said the greed of the people turned on one another. These were very sad and hard times in history. Between the Ottomans and Serbs, there were over 60 battles and so many sieges. In a battle, the casualties are from warring two parties and thus these are casualties in wars. I am not condoning the expansion of an Empire but this was how Empires grew. I dislike fanatic nationalism but it destroys any kind of unity amongst cultures.

i see those greeks and turks who know history and admit to their faults as brother-like, but it is not true that they share the same blood. greeks are europid and some are mixed with ottomans, therefore euro and mongolid. turks are mongolid and the exact opposite happening, some of them mixed with euro. i found greece to be much more open minded while traveling. i think the past can be cured by this beautiful music. greek-turkish music is the best! greetings from england
aman aman.. haha don't know if greeks use this expression but it is very common for songs here in turkey. I have written my thesis on a greek village in imvros and I came to know many great greeks in that village. However they told me super sad stories about the past, so did turkish people. the both nations have suffered a lot, but i truly believe that it will all be better after all. my father is a turk and my mother is a greek :) I like greeks pretty much, quite easy-going and friendly people! amazed by their local cultures and great sense of humour. Let's pray for the safety of both nations. :)

This is a most beautiful song and interpretation. My Armenian friend at the Lycée in Beirut, Lebanon, taught me small pieces of the lyrics in 1956--those by the female interpreter! Παραδίνομαι ! Στην κυρία με το κανονάκι..Μπράβο..
Beautiful song,song for my soul
i see those greeks and turks who know history and admit to their faults as brother-like, but it is not true that they share the same blood. greeks are europid and some are mixed with ottomans, therefore euro and mongolid. turks are mongolid and the exact opposite happening, some of them mixed with euro. i found greece to be much more open minded while traveling. i think the past can be cured by this beautiful music. greek-turkish music is the best!
greetings from england

aman aman.. haha don't know if greeks use this expression but it is very common for songs here in turkey. :)
Hi Samet. My father was born in Imvros, Shinoudi (Derekoy) was his village... we are now in Melbourne, Australia... I would be interested in hearing more about your research if you had the time. Regards, George Xinos
Samet Bayram are you muslim ore orthodox now just asking :) ?
Samet Bayram turks thinks you are suffer them in before the 1923. But actually we give suffer the greek people after 1923 I’m so sorry about as a turk. This apology not gonna change anyting but ok.
the greeks use it too..
We use it alot! Greetings to other side of the aegean. Let's drink, eat together and then smash the borders
Πολύ όμορφο τραγούδι και στις δύο γλώσσες.
Εισται Τελιοι. Δεν εχω αλλο να πω.
dinledikçe mutlu oluyorum. çok teşekkür ederim...
This is a most beautiful song and interpretation. My Armenian friend at the Lycée in Beirut, Lebanon, taught me small pieces of the lyrics in 1956--those by the female interpreter! So, I've a word to the wise, music should bring people of different cultures closer to each other, not apart. To "askimati and boyfromblacksea, take a deeeeeeep breath and enjoy. Happy New Year! Rockymtndude/Arlington, Virginia.
these songs are neither Turkish nor Greek... neither Bulgarian ... nor Romanian .. or Armenian ... oh, they are part of the great culture of Anatolia !! ...composer Dimitri Kantemiroğlu, a Romanian who lived and studied in Istanbul, loves the culture of this region... look: " ...Origin and story: Dimitri Kantemiroğlu (26 October 1673 - 1723) Wiki : tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%A2tibim

Some more info about her (and him): Görkem Ökten Saoulis
Ευχαριστούμε πολύ.
This song never fails to reduce me to tears and I dont understand Turkish! This the first time Ive heard in Greek, which I do understand and realise that the title means from a foreign land Is this correct? çok teşekkür ederim and ευχαριστώ for this video; may Greek and Turkish friendship and mutual understanding keep growing.
