- This is a hard one, because I don’t want to sound like I am complaining about my life. I have a fantastic job that takes me to the most beautiful places in the world, and to be able to have a career definitely makes me a better mom. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t miss my family when I am away from them. I know I am lucky, but it’s always a challenge to find the right balance between being a mom and being a working woman.

I totally get it. I’m an outside salesperson, traveling the country, selling software, with a wife and family at home. I’m on the road about 150 days a year, and feel guilty about missing the little things.
My only advice I give others in similar circumstances is, when you get home, unplug from the outside world, and enjoy your family. Get up early and make them breakfast. Sit at the table and have meals together. Drive them to events. Stay involved. You can sleep on your next plane ride.

If you're a stay-at-home mom you have guilt because you're not out in the world. But when you work, there's also guilt because you're away from them. Just do the best you can in all things--100% at modelling when you're at work and 100% mom and wife when you're not. You're doing great!

Goodafternoon Doutzen, what a beautiful name you have? Is that a common name in ‘Friesland’ ? I just started to whats this channel. Just because You’re name popped up in COVID-19 story’s. Stay Healthy, use lot of vegetables and fruit. A Apple each day keeps the doctor away! Spot on girl. So I liked to see how to stay healthy. But as a man I confess. I like to see natural beautiful women too. You are natural already a masterpiece. But you exercise and don’t eat to much fast food. So you are also very intelligent. As all top models are. Why do people eat so much, and so much fat and sugar? Do you know? But Its also nice to see how make up can change a person completely!! But I a subscriber now. Why? I don’t know. what about fathers?
As a mom of two, i feel the same. I chose to be a stay-at-home mom until they go to primary school. It is absolutely my own choice and i am thankful i am able to be there for them. That being said, i do get a lot of heat about that. A lot of people roll their eyes at me when i tell them that i am a fulltime mom. And that makes me feel like what im doing (being a mother), is not enough.
don't listen to them you are more than enough remember that, also you are giving your children the best gift which is your time and your attention . you are amazing!!!!
We are growing up in an everyday more selfish society. I do not like children that much, but I don't go my way spreading hate to the ones who have kids, instead I totally admire the fact that there are people who actually have kids because they want to and are devoting themselves to raise their children with love, our future need good citizens, good people who can give others love and that's why mommies are so important!

My mom is a single parent who raised me, she went to office in the morning everyday and came back at 7 p.m. in the evening because her office was far away. I think I cherished all the time when she was at home, which made me respect and value her more. It also made me and my sister much more responsible because we realized what we had was all because of our mother who worked so hard. My sister is a doctor today and I'm studying at an engineering school. Whatever we are today, is all because of her, and because I stay alone in another country, there are days that I just want to be with them but I know whatever my mother is doing for me till date, not even a father could've done that. This keeps me going everyday and I'm just so thankful for her. It's really not easy to put your kids through college with expensive fees and all, but I'm just so thankful and motivated to become her support, and for sure one day I will give her everything that she had to sacrifice for me and my sister growing up.

I hope you will succeed in your education and job. I also wish you will be reunited a.s.ap. . I have the best parents ever! But we lost out father about 3 years ago. So I also know time is precious. But you are maybe young still. So I hope you also find time to enjoy life and celebrate it, off cource after this pandemic. Thumbs up to you and your family!

jonginvevo Even though similar, still officially two separate languages. Frisian is spoken in the north part of the Netherlands, called Friesland. In other parts of the country it’s an extra language pupils can learn in school.

Doutzen I totally relate to this. Every time I have to leave them for an early morning flight to our manufacturing plant, it breaks my heart into a million pieces. No matter how much of a professional we maybe, the guilt of leaving your children for work never goes away. And now in the wake of corona virus, so torn about leaving them in the daycare . You're truly so beautiful from the inside and the outside, and you really inspire me to be grateful and to not take things for granted. From what I see, you're a great role model for your children and if I ever, hopefully, become a mom, this is what I want. Doutzen, realize that you are the best mom to your children, and the best wife to Sunnery. You are a great blessing to all of them, I hope that you are ALWAYS aware of that.
I consider myself lucky and favored by God to have so many talents, and so much intelligence. But it breaks my heart that my friends, siblings, and especially my children, do NOT appreciate the sharing of my intelligence, wisdom, money, and TIME with all of them. They even seem to resent me, for being clearly superior to them in intellect. And it is super painful that they are MISSING OUT, with my sharing with them, of the blessings that God has favored me with.
But on your part, dearest Doutzen, your family is clearly APPRECIATIVE of what you are doing for them. You have absolutely NO sin of "neglect" against them, to be guilty of.
Your family understands that you have IMPORTANT work to do, for yourself, for the world, and for your family. We, your fans, and they, your family, love you for it, very much. Not like me, whom I explained, is not appreciated by those I am trying so hard to help, even at my great expense and really humble effort. So Bravo to you.

I think you are incredibly lucky, not because you are a model and travel to great places, but because the time spent away from your kids because of your travels probably contributes hugely to the way you live life to the fullest with them and make every second with them count. Living in the moment is an amazing gift, that many take for granted. Because you spend more time than most away from them, you live the moments you are with them with much more purpose. And that, Doutzen, is a blessing to them that you won't be able to measure now. But in years to come, I know they will look back fondly on the amazing times you spent together. Much love. xoxo

Doutzen, my daughters are now in their 20’s but when they were young I traveled to sing and speak and was away from my family for a week sometimes two weeks. Relationship we have with our family impacts our lives so greatly. I have a great relationship with both my parents but my Mum is so special to me. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis last year which means I can lose her earlier then I expected and this make me cherish every single moment we spend together ❤️

Mothers usually are the person who care about their children the most in the world. That was my mom but unfortunately passed away due to thyroid cancer in 2020 in June.
