This just came to my mind the other day that I should eventually do mine lol I have the parts collected for brake upgrade, with 05/06 Outlander front, and V6 Galant rear. Hoping to do it fresh I didn't get the rotor and pads from the junkyard, but going to get new ones instead. One thing I find interesting is that the rear rotor from the 05/06 Outlander is the same part number as the V6 Galant, but not the caliper+pads, so if anyone have a hard time looking for new rear rotors from the V6, here is another option (well, same thing basically). Thanks for the video as always!! it's motivating :) (2000 Galant ES)
Great job. You can also use bolt on full set from right hand drive MITSUBISHI DIAMANTE as well. Here in Russia its easier to find diamante set, than 3,0 gt eclipse cuz of Japan closeness. It has ventilated rear disc and double piston front caliper with 294мм brake disc. Did this to my 2003 Stratus coupe. Wish you big luck.
You know I've been following this build for a while you would be amazed how similar an oz ralliart lancer is to this gallant if you just do 4g64 engine swap which is what I'm working on but good seeing you advance
Would you mind explaining what parts you replaced/bought?? plates, brackets, bolts, from what vehicle... It's a good video. You just missed those details.
Thanks for watching. Fortunately, nothing was missed as no extra bolts or brackets are needed. Assuming your car already has a complete braking system in the rear, everything will swap over.
@@lilbrokenheart5228 I have them on my 3g and I like to consider myself slammed. Only thing I don’t like is the springs aren’t stiff enough so def get the swift springs if you don’t want to rub

Was going to do just this on my 8g. Perfect timing!
Great video! I did this swap on my 3G Eclipse too. Straight forward swap and looks much better IMO

Should also use the proportioning valve form the doner or get a new one drum vs disc there is a difference in the pressure split form front to back
Agreed. Good point that I forgot to mention.
Will the backing plate from the drum brakes work or will I need the disc brake backing plate?
No, you’d have to use the disk brake plate
so should I buy a new rear brake assembly from a 3g v6 eclipse to put it on my 05 eclipse spyder?
If yours is a 4 cylinder and you want disk brakes then yes.
