Thanks for video. I suggest you to use Unwrap UVW modifier to use randomize uvw. -Apply Unwrap UVW and open uv editor. -Select all the faces and go Mapping/Flatten maping Than you get random uvw mapping for each face. Also you can move,rotate or scale some of them.

Thank you very much for this as I have just now two projects of architects with these rod panels, interior and exterior. It is very much in fashion now. But I have also random oblique rods (not vertically), so I have to go through your steps and rotate the rods later by hand....

Great! I was testing uvw randomizer but had no chance with it, it added several uvw maps on every piece separately, but the trick was to make the pieces editable poly before add the uvw map.

U can improve speed with "Box-type" objects just by applying UnwrapUVW and click the unfold button, then u'll need only to set the correct size of map. But anyway - good approach.

How do you change the tiling of the unwrap uvw?

That can sometimes give you wrong rotation for wood patterns

I would rebuild the model with Railclone, and set up a random UVW offset in the nodegraph.
