That last scene with Zuko hit us right in the feels! 😔 You can now find our reactions to the rest of season 2 and episodes 1, 2 of season 3 over on our Pateron: www.patreon.com/ScribblesReactions
Amazing catch that it’s even harder to be the avatar as an airbender! Avatars can never disconnect from “worldly concerns” like monks, it’s very contradictory
Ozai is an egotistical psychopath with no redeeming qualities. Azula was talented. So, she received praise and mentoring. The mentoring taught her to also be an egotistical psychopath. Zuko was not talented. So, he received nothing but shame and criticism. He was tossed aside. Zuko tries to be like Ozai or Azula even as he dislikes them. He keeps trying to do what he thinks is right as a fire nation prince even while realizing his actions are evil. So much pressure and conflict.
Azula is as a victim as much as Zuko is. She had no positive influences other then being tough a Machiavellian way of using power and control as a way to get people to do what you want them to. Zuko’s lack of talent actually kept him from getting his terrible’s father’s attention and approval.

This series is rather enjoyable for kids but for an adult it is a feast for the intelligence and emotions.
