I can definitely relate to the random lost ball even when I know it was a good shot and even know pretty much exactly where it was. It's sooo frustrating
that's when i pull the spectator rule out of the bag... if I had been playing with spectators lining the fairways they would've spotted my ball instantly when it came down. drop one where you think it should be and play it with no penalty
This is a blatant violation of the rules of golf, but if I honestly believe there's no chance it's OB/hazard and I just can't find it, I just drop another one. Since I find literally dozens of balls in similar positions every round there's no way I'm the only one this happens to.
Yea, if I'm adding to my handicap score I add a stroke and drop another ball. If I have played bad enough that I don't want to count the round...I don't add the stroke and drop another ball...or two!
Yeah I play "gallery rules" which is I don't count a stroke for a lost ball for balls just off the fairway that in a normal event someone in the gallery or a forecaddie would have marked
Yup. Just plop one down if your playing partners are cool with it. In a match or tournament I could see someone saying no but other than that if they did I'd assume it was a setup and they were sabotaging me 😂
@@chrispearce9224 choosing if you want to post a round of golf based on how you are playing is the most dishonest way to get a handicap. All rounds played by the rules of golf need to be posted if you are actually posting a handicap. If you aren't posting scores, then just have fun and drop balls all you want but to pick and choose based off your play is extremely childish.
Garrett, I just lost a ball yesterday while golfing. All of us watched the ball hit the fairway but none of us could find the ball. It was one of my best drives of the day and it ended in disappointment. Keep up the good work, boys! I enjoy all the videos.
Should’ve used “The Gallery Rule”. The name comes from the idea that if you were playing in a pro tournament you’d have a gallery of fans around to find your ball, and would never lose it in situations like this one. If your playing partner agrees it was a decent shot and should’ve been findable, you get a free drop at a mutually agreed upon spot. This is courtesy of the Foreplay podcast a few years ago.
12:20 I know it’s an L wedge Garrett, but this is the best swing I’ve ever seen you make. If you can have this type of commitment/aggression all the time, look the fuck out!
Great content Garrett, really enjoy your and Grant's vs series. Your editing, the sound effects and screen grayscale to name a couple, is part of what separates you from the competition- Great Job!
Hey garret , I think you prob won’t see this but , I had a surgery on my ear this morning and you helped me so much with the pain I just watched you guys and it worked . Just letting you know I’m going to be buying some good good Murch .
It's pretty fun to see you guys making faces of encouragement to overcome a potential defeat oraking faces of disappointment for potentially loosing the match after being 3 up and almost closing the deal. Definitely a great match !
I feel you G. Playing Torrey Pines before a tournament, I’ve lost lost balls that were barely off the fairway. Loving the So Cal stuff. Nothing better than so cal golf and so cal beaches. Shouldn’t hesitate to move down.
Thought the same thing the other day when I saw Micah's video. Couldn't hurt and you know stripeshow would do it for free with the advertisement. Or his Mizuno peeps, more likely. They make bettenardi right? I'm sure there's something he would love out of all those beauties.
In a friendly round, my buddies and I play by the gallery rule. If the ball is obviously not OB, the gallery rule comes into play to keep pace of play up. Essentially, if the ball is in bounds and would have easily been found if you had a gallery watching you play (like on the PGA tour), it's a free drop. Obviously different when you're competing and /or playing for money, but it's a good rule to keep up pace of play and for avoiding frustration.
Love GM golf! Greeting from Taiwan 🇹🇼, we are the fan of gm golf! Would love you guys to come to Asia to do a golf trip play courses here and get more exposure of your channel to Taiwan golf lovers. Would love to see you guys do a video with CT Pan ( the only Taiwanese player compete in PGA tour), he’s residing in Texas :) that would be so cool!
Putting on freshly aerated greens is challenging for sure, at least it is for me. This was a fun match-y’all have good chemistry on camera. ⛳️🏌️🏌🏻♂️⛳️❤️✌🏻
I have that issue all the time Garrett. I drive it so much further than my playing partners and it goes just off the fairway. They usually have to hit it twice or three times by the time we get to where mine was and by the time we get up to where we thought mine went we can’t find it. So frustrating because they aren’t even bad shots!
Grants swing is effortless and just flawless! outside of Tig and what he has going on rite now.. in my opinion his game has the most potential!! #GoodGoodFanForLife
Grant has the hands of stone when putting. He hits them so hard in every video, challenge, etc. during the current Good Good challenges with Steve, he is saying ok this one is quick and then he putts and it’s 10 feet by. 😂. He does make a lot of the comebacks but man he’s aggressive with his first putt.
Garrett is super streaky when he gets hot with his short game. These sat and sun matches are extremely close matches I never know who is gonna win. Good match Grant 👏
Great game guys. Garrett I played a course in NSW where the crows would swoop down and steal your ball. First time it happened it was from middle of fairway but they even stole them off the green.
I had a buddy who smashed a driver, literally perfect position and we all swore we saw where it landed. People came by that area before we got there and we couldn't find the ball. We asked if they saw anything or took a ball and they said they didn't. Really sucks when we are all trash at golf and you have someone hit an amazing shot just for it to disappear
I don't know if anyone else notices this but I think Grant is going easy on Garret, especially during the puts. He literally makes a 25ft put at 15:32 and then somehow goes long and far right on some little 10 ft put at 17:16 and tries to incconcently hide it with an "oh gosh" and little whistle. Yeahhhhhh he didn't put it past me, but definitely did with Garrett.
hit one of the best balls of the day in a tournament a week ago. headed right to a bunker and it was just gone. ended up double bogeying the hole with that 2 stroke penalty
I take risks a lot and I've definitely hit into some ball thieves by mistake. It got to a point where if I have a big blind shot, I'll go last and send a guy to watch
Yep! So obvious that I have accused people on the other hole. But it’s happened more than once on different days. I tend to think there are golf thieving leprechauns or something at my local course.
Happened a few times at my course with the lost ball just off the fairway. Our roughs are really thick and unforgiving. Also find quite a few balls others have lost so it happens to a lot of people
The same thing happened to me in my last round of golf two days ago. I hit a sold drive up the left side of hole 16 at my local course, Ellinwood County Club in Athol,MA, drove up to find my tee shot and it was nowhere to be found. I couldn’t find it plugged I didn’t find it off the edge near the woods or anywhere I looked. First time it’s ever happened to me when hitting a tee shot that looked perfect. It is definitely a frustrating thing to have happen 🤬
OK ... Tournament this year at Wine Valley in Washington. Can't find my 2nd on a par 5. Times up, lost ball, go back and hit again. Walk back to my bag that I'd left in the search area of the 1st ball, find it. Sigh. Managed to salvage 2nd place net, but that one hurt.
Best match yet! And usually when my ball goes missing on a good shot into a blind dog leg, I just assume someone took it and drop a new ball right in the middle😂
16:00 - As Good-Good is quite a large group, including cameramen and even editors who sometimes come out with you, could you not station someone at the approximate position you think you're going to hit the drives and approaches, so that (A) you can get footage of the ball as it lands, and (B) there's always someone present who knows where that is? I admit that there's always the issue of 'Fore!' at play, but if they know a ball could be coming in that direction, they're... well, sort of forewarned (excuse the pun).
G-man ! I've lost many a ball in broad day light, in open sight (my mates lost their minds 'cause we all saw the bounce)... *hit happens brother. Just gotta get back up and EAT THAT HORSE !
