Nice, definitely use the eforms version of form 1. I submitted mine about a month before it went online with the thought that it’s a government website, they’ll screw it up and have to fix it. I’m still waiting for approval. In the meantime the eforms are getting approved in weeks, or a month.
I have a KR-9 that I’m going to SBR. I’ve only put a couple of hundred rounds through it, as a rifle, and it functions flawlessly. I was going to get the SBR version but I came across a lightly used KR-9 that still looked new for a great price, and having my own little machine shop I went that route. Of course I submitted the form 1 just before eforms came online and I’m still waiting for approval.

The rear sight leaf is set up for 50-200 Meters. No hate. Just letting you know. 100 meters with iron sights is no problem with this little guy. :) I've pushed mine well beyond that.
I know that you asked Chris, but I have an MRO on mine and it’s mounted low. I like it. I don’t think that I’d like it mounted high, but everyone has their own preferences.

I was so interested in this carbine that I watched the video twice. I have been on the fence over getting the Kalashnikov pc carbine or the PSA AKV 9 model. Have you had any experience with the PSA firearm, and how would you compare them?

Right now some owners are having out of battery discharges. (do a youtube search) Sounds like K-USA is not addressing them, or blowing them off. I would take a second look at PSA as they have a lifetime warranty on their firearms.

Built with 80,000 round durability and I have no doubt that it would stand up to that. All you “milled or nothing” snobs are ridiculous. You can get just as much lifetime out of casted parts if it’s done correctly. Granted it’s a lot easier to run into QC issues with casting. Some companies are just a lot better at it than others. I’m positive that KUSA does it right to where the gun would just cost more and weigh more with a milled trunnion. In fact KUSA was so accurate at replicating the manufacturing processes of a Russian Izhmash/Kalashnikov produced Vityaz that their first examples produced had the very same QC issue as Izhmash had initially where the top cover plate(after similar round counts) would crack just below the release button/back of the guide rod. It was immediately corrected by KUSA in the manufacturing process after they got reports back and learned of the issue.

Forged trunnions will absolutely last longer than cast. Some do not think the milled receiver is worth the extra weight. The forged trunnion adds no weight but will last much longer.

These are not Russian made. Buying from Kalashnikov USA doesn’t support Russia in any way. All parts on KUSA products are made in the US. Ukraine themselves recognize the value of Kalashnikov pattern rifles and use them with great effect against the Russian aggressors.
