Hello Steve, I love the way you play and watching this video I would like you to play standard jazz, but in parts, that is, explaining the intro, the bridge, the melody, the other bridge and so on until the end, to finish playing it all . We are many drummers who can not understand jazz completely, I would like to understand it with the same ease as a rock or pop theme. Ok, a hug from Argentina!
Beautiful, Steve! But if you alow me, those small sized brilliant finish A Custom crashes sound too harsh for that music. If it was me I'd go for bigger sizes and darker sounding crashes. But that's just me :)
I've watched you off-and-on for several years now, Steve, and your playing has gotten really sophisticated. It's not that I never admired you, but that your expressiveness and touch has (at least in your videos here) has improved really impressively. I think within the last half-year, I commented that you were sounding Weckl-like, but the sound here is just "I've been playing jazz for 3 decades" laid-back. Kudos!
