Hey guys, just a PSA: MAKE SURE that the release lever is pushed down ALL the way so the lever is flush with the metal when the stem is folded up in the riding position. The manual does not make this clear, in my opinion. I assumed that the peg simply clicked into place when you unfolded it, and didn’t think to push the release lever all the way down to secure it. And since I didn’t, the locking peg wasn’t totally in place. I was able to stand and even bounce on it in this state but once I got up to speed, the stem folded and I took a spill. Scraped up my elbows and my throttle snapped off the handlebars, and my arms were sore for a few days. I’m looking for a repair on the throttle connector currently. So, a PSA: make sure that the release lever is pushed ALL THE WAY DOWN so that it is flush with the metal before you ride! This is probably good advice for any other electric scooter as well.
Dude...what an awesome in depth way of reviewing, comparing such a competitive scooter market going on right now! Please do all of future videos this way....IMPRESSED I AM!
Just got mine today! it already comes assembled and all you have to do is tighten the bolts on the throttle and brake with the cool allen key set that comes with it! It doesn't come fully charged but even so it will still hit 23 mph! Once fully charged you can definitely hit 25 MPH on a flat surface. I am already in love with this thing! And if you're having doubts because it has a pneumatic tire don't sweat it! The tire is very solid and can take a beating. The roads arent forgiving in NY and I just put it to the test.
You can switch to honeycomb tires after your pneumatic tires worm out. The honeycomb tires is a kind of solid tires with honeycomb holes to absorb the vibration from bumps and potholes. It would give the feeling of riding on pneumatic tires without the worry of punctures.

It accelerates faster in gear 1 and reaches 13 mph than my Gotrax XR Ultra would in it’s top gear, which would hit 14 mph. I have the p setting on 5 for acceleration, which is the fastest. Chuck, you've nailed it with this review. I upgraded from the GoTrax GXL and I'm loving it. Your point about the rear solid tire is spot on. I have had an "opportunity" to ride this in rain (summer in South Florida, almost daily occurrence), much as you state, the rear solid tire does take away from the stability on wet surfaces. Being an unbranded Zero 8 (Fluid's statement), it would be nice if there were an option for tubing the rear tire. I will add something that bears mentioning in future reviews of anything with pneumatic tires. How easy is it to change the tire? I give props to the people that build this scooter. You do not need tire levers or a tire plier to get the bead over the rim. The front tire splits apart with three bolts. In Europe, if you want the 10Ah version then buy the original branded version the Zero 8 available around Euro595, perhaps less in post Christmas sales. If you want the 13Ah version with the upgrades then the Horizon is currently well worth a look see (if you can find it) given the Zero 9 is still retailing around Euro1100. The Zero 9 is better than the 8, of course, but twice as good? Enter the Horizon...but perhaps this is a precursor to a Zero 9 price drop, Euro800 for this awesome ride would be a steal.
Just to be clear, which one is the better scooter, the horizon or the zero 8? He said they are clones but which one is actually better than the other? What are the differences?
Looking at the latest data in our database, our Horizon edges out the Zero 8 in pretty much every category. It's really very close though. The Horizon also did really well in the rider survey results electric-scooter.guide/blog/2021-survey-results/ -Paul

Hey! So I’m looking for a bit of an upgraded scooter for city transportation that doesn’t break the bank and this seemed like a great option, however I live in an area with some Pretty good hills. Looking at half a mile at an 11% grade. Would this scooter be able to handle it or do I need to look elsewhere. I feel like 500 watts should be enough but I don’t know what kind of torque the motor puts out (I weigh roughly 180lbs)
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide This is exactly why there is a baton attached to the stem of my Horizon. While I'm a dog lover (have had many over my 55 years), I'm also a realist. When the old ladies with their retractable leashes meant for teacups are out walking their 60+ lbs dogs, I'm prepared.
Hi! For those who know, what would be better... 10 inch inflatable wheel and no suspension (Like hover-1 alpha) or 8 inch wheels with suspension like this fluid Horizon???
I tried out the Levy Plus scooter last year. It has 10 inch pneumatic tires and no other suspension, and I felt that the ride beat the horizon suspension hands down. I weigh 250 lbs, and I could ride on a cobblestone street with the Levy with no problem. I tried to go down the same street on the horizon and had to stop immediately. I felt like it was going to shake apart - and I don’t want to punish a scooter like that. I ended up buying the horizon scooter because it has a larger motor than the levy, and can go up hills better (for someone my weight, steep hills are out, until I buy a one of those monster scooters that can handle anything). It was a trade off - but I miss those big beautiful tires. Huge difference.
I have a Nanrobot X4 2.0 with an advertised max. speed of between 19 and 24 mph. (This also has a 500 W rear motor and 8" solid rear tire.) The control panel indeed showed a max speed of 24 mph. However, when I checked it with a GPS app, I found the max. speed to be only 19 mph. So, I wonder whether or not the max. speed of 24 mph you reported was based on the control-panel reading and, if so, whether or not you have calibrated it against a GPS app. Thanks.
Can you please address what you said that the Zero 8 is a clone of this? Are these the same company, or is the Horizon inspired by the Zero? Etc, Etc. Do you know the return policy of this company? Thank you very much
Check out the emove touring as well. Compare the horizon and emove touring. I'm aiming for the emove touring myself. Holds more weight. Bigger deck to stand on. Little better acceleration. Roughly same price. Pros and cons of course but it's a tough decision

Good review. Upgrading from a GoTrax GXL V2 which seems to need a new battery after only 6 months. It holds 50% of the charge it did when new. Really disappointing. Also, I WISH the standard Horizon was 569. It's 700 bucks now. "On sale". Everything went up by a lot the past few months. Sucks.
Hmmm, interesting on the GoTrax, should still keeping much more charge than that after 6 months. Did you already contact GoTrax about this? Looks like a good scooter and was planning on getting it but when I saw that the front tire wasn't solid, I changed my mind. If there is a way to change it to a solid one then I'll consider it
I felt the same way but its super easy to change. You can patch without removing the wheel at all. I can see now that Ive had it a few weeks why air is better and safer so it's a no brainer on the front since it's so easy to fix.
Just ordered the Fluid Horizon, but i believe the Apollo Explore is better in every way. Better quality. Explorer costs a little more but worth imo. I guess im sending the horizon back and get the explorer.
No app for thie one. Speed-wise, we clocked it at 24 mph on flat ground. The rear tire is airless, but the front is pneumatic. It's a good compromise of ride feel and flat-resistance, since most flats happen on the rear tire. -Paul

@@appa561 Honestly, i don't use it very much other than to stand it up while i'm putting on my helmet so I haven't found it a problem. I did change the grips to ergon gs1 which was a very nice improvement. Also added a bar end mirror and went through and put loctite on everything that didn't already have it.
Excellent review. Thank you sir!
Wow I can’t imagine a better review
Great mileage and excellent folding mechanism. I would've liked to see better suspension in the front. Very informative review!!
Great review! is this the same as the Grace 8 Scooter I've seen on Ali Baba express?
Just to be clear, which one is the better scooter, the horizon or the zero 8? He said they are clones but which one is actually better than the other? What are the differences?
Looking at the latest data in our database, our Horizon edges out the Zero 8 in pretty much every category. It's really very close though. The Horizon also did really well in the rider survey results
electric-scooter.guide/blog/2021-survey-results/

I’m confused, this looks, and seems to perform the same as a turbo wheels swift?
Do you think i should get the Emove touring or the fluid freeride horizon?
Would you recommend the turbo swift or the horizon? Going to buy one today.
The Segway es2-es4 it's a good option too
@@Miner_V2 segways have sh*t deck clearance and suspension. not comparable, only in price.
On 9/9/2019 the price was $800. Is this the same as the Zero 8 from RevRides? I'd like to see a demo on how to lock these up. Thanks for a great review.
Oops.. you said:
"Yes, they are the same scooter just with the different branding. Both are great, consider pricing and support of both before purchasing. (I always have information in the description of where I recommend buying). Good luck with your purchase, you're gonna love it. "
The distance, speed, and weight limit of the Zero 8 are more conservative on fluidfreeride.com/products/horizon-practical-allround-electric-scooter-for-commute?variant=19733559869509&ref=15, but the price is the same as .
I wonder how FluidFreeRide compares with RevRides in terms of support...
Fantastic review, very thorough!
Thank YOU! Not just for the great info, but for the awesome production and B-roll as well! Keep it up! :) I will point anyone who is in the market for a scooter to your channel for sure!
Been looking at a couple scooters but most brands have poor customer service and that’s mainly what’s holding me back from choosing a specific brand.
Found one?
A good, solid, review.
Damn Chuck ! Them sun glasses make you look like the cop in “The Village People “ lol
“ I gotta be a macho man “ lol
Im considering getting this scooter for my daily work commute, would love to hear what people think about the scooter over months or years. Thanks for this review, considering with the rising gas prices.
Yo it would be a great scooter for that it's reliable and tough and portable
Ive put 1500 miles on mine and still ticking good. The solid tire is actually is good no punctures to worry about and it tops at 24 mph still
Apollo light = Zero 8 = Horizon = Turbowheel swift. Same base with minor modifications.
Thank you for the thorough review
your video was great you cover every detail..but i will like to know if there was a dog chasing you at minute 8:38 🐕 .
I use my es2 scooter for my daily commute so i see that a lot with dogs
How did you all get your hands on one before the public release? Did fluid free ride give you a model early to review?
Are you aware of a kickstand that fits this scooter but is a little longer?
If you had to pick between this scooter & the Ninebot Max which would you choose & why?
What state is this ? The beach and hills look like an awesome place to ride. Im in CT and it sux. Lol
lol the dog sprinting at you at 8:41
Damn, that dog is way faster than the scooter
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide This is exactly why there is a baton attached to the stem of my Horizon. While I'm a dog lover (have had many over my 55 years), I'm also a realist. When the old ladies with their retractable leashes meant for teacups are out walking their 60+ lbs dogs, I'm prepared.
hahahaha
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Lol, where's the rest of the footage where the dog attacks you??
Thanks.
No link in the notes to the horn you mentioned? Also how are you connecting the rear light?
Do you notice a "fender slap" over medium to larger cracks, bumps, curbcuts, etc?
The front wheel is 8.5 inches, whereas the rear is 8 inches. The rear wheel is also wider than the front
Can you please address what you said that the Zero 8 is a clone of this? Are these the same company, or is the Horizon inspired by the Zero? Etc, Etc. Do you know the return policy of this company? Thank you very much
Very good review, indeed.
Thanks very much!
Those aviator shades are rockin...please review the Razor E-XR!!!
So Loc-Tite the handlebars, and fold up the scooter before charging. I'm considering buying one.
It’s a dependable scooter for sure!
Vset 8 or Horizon? Which one is best?
The 8 prob has better features at this point! Thanks for watching.
Would this be a better pick the the ninebot max for ride quality and power mostly ride quality?
Yes we like this better overall then the Segway max! -Vosk
Can you replace the battery?
Do you know if this will work well on steep hills? Trying to choose between this and the Ninebot Max.
Get this one it’s acceleration and speed better so yes it’s better vs hills
Was considering picking this up for my 93lb roommate.
Well put together video..
I am torn between: Horizon vs. Zero 8 vs. Apollo Light ??? - any input is appreciated.
Check out the emove touring as well. Compare the horizon and emove touring. I'm aiming for the emove touring myself. Holds more weight. Bigger deck to stand on. Little better acceleration. Roughly same price. Pros and cons of course but it's a tough decision
With apollo's you have to pay it all up front if you live in USA. if they did monthly payments for usa residents I'd seriously consider an Apollo
I purchased this scooter yesterday on sale for just under $600. (With a $150 discount code) darn good value imo.
Same but won't ship til june😪
Where and how did you get the coupon code? I’m purchasing this on Friday. Thank you
how would you rate this compared to gotrax's gmax ultra ?
Good job Chuck
I am currently looking to buy a scooter. I live in New York City. I am willing to spend $500 to 800 on a scooter. Please give me your master mind advice. All your reviews are awesome and I am having the hardest time deciding. Please give me your suggestion on a first time electric scooter owner.
I wonder if Teflon tape could help in the preventing the handlebars from unloosening?
Possibly!
Which one is better the Emove Touring or this? Durability and power longer range.
We would go for the touring! Better suspension & zippier. You can grab $50 off with code RIDERGUIDE
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide thanks for reply!
GOOD EVENING! i am looking for a retailer of this scooter in Canada do you know of any?
Can you recommend me a handlebar extender that fits the fluid horizon?
8:39 anyone else notice the dog chasing him!? Loli
Yess! 😂😂
Yes lol
does it have cruise control on this scooter, or do you have to hold it at all times?
I believe it does since the Zero 8 (same controller) has it. It is the P17 setting: 0 for off, 1 for on. We always recommend being careful with the cruise control if you are new to scooters.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I have been doing some research on e scooter and potentially acquiring one, I have not seen much reviews on the this particular Fluid freeride Horizon scooter. I also found out that you can achieve the maximum range as the company claim on this scooter. I am comparing this between Xiaomi pro and Segway Max, do you have any advise on purchasing one? Your help would be appreciated. I would be using it as alternative to my bike, and perhaps for recreational purposes.
Any commenters want to let me know what to get??? Turbo wheel swift or the fluid horizon?.
As far as the Horizon, the only help I can give you is a free folding lock with purchase, which doesn't help much with the price. Check this page tomorrow because you might see something for Black Friday on the Horizon. electric-scooter.guide/category/coupons/
Also, check the Zero 8 by RevRides (nearly identical to Horizon) as they have a 10% off coupon: electric-scooter.guide revrides.com/products/zero-8?sca_ref=3059.ElJ94uq1v1
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide thanks for the reply. Yeah I'm gonna hold off till Black Friday and see if they do anything.
Chuck do you know if this uses LG battery ?
I had a flat tire while riding.
Big gash on eye brow from sunglasses and shoulder injury.
Its too dangerous.
I will buy only solid tires from now on.
I need a handlebar extender for this scooter!! Can you link me one that works on this scooter?
How much does this weigh? The stated 2:46 time stamp does not say how much this scooter weighs.
Hello, is the front tire, tubeless?
3:36
Correction: you meant to say WATT hour battery, not amp hour.
Looks like a good scooter and was planning on getting it but when I saw that the front tire wasn't solid, I changed my mind. If there is a way to change it to a solid one then I'll consider it
I felt the same way but its super easy to change. You can patch without removing the wheel at all. I can see now that Ive had it a few weeks why air is better and safer so it's a no brainer on the front since it's so easy to fix.
tighten a screw every mile or so is not a big deal?
I picked up one with 605 miles for $220. Seems to be great deal
Great deal!
So this or the Apollo explore ?
Just ordered the Fluid Horizon, but i believe the Apollo Explore is better in every way. Better quality. Explorer costs a little more but worth imo. I guess im sending the horizon back and get the explorer.
Is there a app on it? I’m thinking about buying it but I really want a scooter that can go at least 25 mph and has a app with airless tired
No app for thie one. Speed-wise, we clocked it at 24 mph on flat ground. The rear tire is airless, but the front is pneumatic. It's a good compromise of ride feel and flat-resistance, since most flats happen on the rear tire. -Paul
Cool Drone and Scooter
Can you get an aftermarket air tire for the rear?
4:17 Chuck's stunt double...lol 😆
Why would you compare the ancient M365 instead of the M365 Pro! *Facepalm*
Can you buy a Horizon on AliExpress from the actual maker in China and save some money?
Does anyone know how much of a discount i could get on the horizon e scooter? Currently it is 699.99 and i would only be able to purchase it if its arounf 600:(
The only discount code we have on that one is for a free lock. The code for that is just: "electric-scooter.guide" -Paul
FLDSAVE10
10% off
you're welcome ;)
Does the front tire not having a solid inner tube make anyone else worry about it popping?
Horizon or Turbowheel Swift??? I cannot find a perfect answer!
Dhruv Patel I’m new to electric scooters and wondering the same thing lol they seem to be the same
@@BullshotDarts I am leaning towards turbo swift. A little more money but will be worth for the built.
I see a lot of complaints about the handlebars. I must be the lucky one because my handle bars feel solid.
