it was my first stereo system i was 12 years old my father bought in JAPAN IN 1977 , it was 1 or 2 piece in the country that time , it has 4 speakers and just eat the batteries very fast exactly 8 of them :) but i loved it as a little kid i i was so proud because nobody else has that foe a long time

OMG My dad bought one of these when I was a kid. It was handed down to me and I hooked up an old BSR Turntable. That was my system in high school. I recorded hundreds of hours of cassettes on that thing. LOL. Don't know what happened to it.

Wow! Imagine if you bought one of these in 1976 and you were perfectly satisfied with the sound: it could have served all that time as your primary stereo component. Over the years you'd just switch out a cd changer or maybe a disc-man, then an i-pod dock and then finally a blue-tooth receiving dongle into the line in, or maybe if you didn't mind all the RCA cables, get one of those 4 button multi-plexors and just keep all of them, and all the while keeping your turn table plugged in so you could go from hip to square and back to hip again without doing anything. And it fits on a shelf! And you could even connect better speakers!

Just picked one up. Happy as a little boy Christmas morn! My issue with mine is, it is always picking up what sounds like 2 stations at once. I can never get clarity on just one. No matter how clear the signal(s) are (ie background noise etc), it is always picking up at least 2 stations (even clearly). HELP!

Keep eyes open on eBay and reverb for a parts unit or the part itself. Find the service manual, locate the switch part number and Google it. Often one part was used in many machines. Good luck.

I never understood why the two biggest exporters of portable cassette radios into the U.S. left world band capability off the models they sold here!
I mean come on, boomboxes from Sanyo, JVC, LaSonic and so on had the shortwave 1 + 2, and they got satisfactory pull-in for what they were
