The improvements over my bought new in 2015 Road King standard are immense and noteworthy. Like amazing handling, incredible comfort even with the low profile tires and new hydraulic clutch that's far smoother with none of that annoying clunk! And did I say I freaking LOVE my Special?? Got one. Love it. Handlebars suck for comfort though. Back to the "road king lean" that causes back pain. They started putting heritage style bars on road kings a few years back because of this. Back to crappy ones on the special in 2019 for some reason... Traded in a 2018 road glide with the 107. Power difference is noticeable albeit the road glide was heavier. Love the midnight blue.
Prestige Worldwide that's good to hear and good feedback about the handlebars. I bought a 2018 Heritage with the 114 and you're right, noticeable power increase! Thanks again for your comment.
I test rode a road king special yes the handle bars suck. For me lean to far forward I bought an 18 heritage with the 114 love it. Also have an 04 road king.
my son just bought this same bike 2019 special and the first thing he did was new exhaust and tall 15'' bars, better head light. trade in was a 2017 road guide 107. with 40k on it in less then 2 years he rides a lot. he said this king was a much better bike. he said he no need gps or radio he has a cell phone with ear buds. that large road fairing had to go . to large for splitting lanes here in san diego. it is the same bike as the road glide, problem is he did not have the anti-lock brakes and was way to dangerous to ride without anti-lock brakes, now Matt Laidlaw of Laidlaw Harley the oldest largest dealer in los angeles said the road king is his favorite bike. he just sold his after having it a very long time i don't know what he will get next...
