    Billa is one of the most expensive Austrian supermarkets. Lidl, Hofer, and Penny are significantly cheaper.

    Hence why you as a Viennese citizen, you drive up to the neighbouring, i.e. cheaper countries, fill your car to the brim with groceries and laugh at anyone constantly complaining about steep price hikes at local supermarkets. Repeat this process every 2 or 3 weeks, depending on how many mouths to feed.

    Similar prices to us. Some of that wine and beer were really cheap though!
