    Moving from my 2-bottle DYI CO2 system to a steel canister tonight, and looking for a video that shows in-depth how the manifold and solenoid work. This fit the bill perfectly. Details like pointing out that the close position on the first valve is unscrewed all the way, direction of flow on the check valve, how to turn the system on -- all excellent. Now will be looking for an update on how to decompress the system when it's time to switch the fuel (citric acid and baking soda). In theory, easy, but... so much better to see it done!

In the demo I use a in tank co2 diffuser, having a check valve worked (and in the video) but when I put an in-line diffuser, I had to remove the check valve. You dont have to use the check valve actually as the bubble counter acts as a check valve. Hope this information helps

    Great info. i have a diffusor in the outlet of my filter, but to eliminate bubbles I also let it flow through an extra filter, in my case the small Eheim Classic, without using the pump. The filter is filled with raw filtermaterial and pieces of egg crate. In this way the CO2 is completely aborbed. No bubbles.

      @@Natquascape - Just a quick question please! I am a beginner in aquascaping, and I am planning to plant grass seeds in my 30G tank without CO2. Do you think the grass will be ok if I supply it with fertilizer and do 20% water change weekly? CO2 is a little bit intimidating for a beginner like me 😜. Thanks bro!

    • @Natquascape
      @Natquascape  3 года назад +1

      @@deenugent473 Ah ha...now I have never used seeds before. However, if you are a beginner - I would just try it and see how it goes BUT....do it in a small, cheap experimental tank...don't go all out. I have seen that a dry start method is required for seeds. Once you see established growth then flood the tank....this is where you may get plant melting because the plant has to adapt from being out of water to in water. I would be more tempted to setup a scape with easy plants using no co2 and liquid ferts. Plants like helanthium tenelum green, styrogyne repens, rotala roudatifolia, java fern, bucephalandra and annubias first. Just to get some experience and handle on growing aquatic plants without co2. Then....once you are confortable....add co2 to that scape and see what difference it makes. My tip is cycle the tank FULLY for up to 4 weeks before draining and adding plants. Hope this helps

    Good video, Natquascape! I highly recommend that you use mineral oil in your CO2 bubble counter (regular baby oil is the same substance). The problem with using water in the bubble counter is that it will evaporate. As CO2 is diffused through the water, it will 'pop' at the surface and take turn that water into an aerosol (or O2). This O2, along with CO2, will flow down and will exit at your CO2 diffuser. In most cases, you will find the bubble counter low (and most often, without) water within 1 to 2 weeks. The benefit of using mineral oil is it's viscosity. You will have a more realistic result (and representation) when measuring the 'bubbles per second'. In conjunction with your CO2 drop checker, the position of the CO2 diffuser adjacent to the outflow, you will have an optimal CO2 setup for your Nature Aquarium. I hope this helps!

    Hi, I have been getting a few comments about using an inline check valve. I just checked my video and I am deffinately using a check valve made by jbl with the neo diffuser which worked well in the demonstration. I must have done this as a safety precaution and did not realise that the bubble counter also acts as a check valve. Having an extra check valve is no harm if it works, looks like my other check valves are not suitable for use with an inline co2 diffuser (works with in tank diffuser like the neo diffuser just fine). Hope this information helps. Hope this information helps. Great video but I do have one comment. The main valve on the CO2 tank should be either fully closed or fully open. In an intermediate position, some valves can leak. They are not designed to be left partially open.

    • @mattkershner1106
      @mattkershner1106 6 месяцев назад

      ALL cylinders valves, are designed to only need cracked opened. They are designed that way, so flammable gases, can be shut off immediately in the event of a fire. I was director of safety for over 25 years. Everytime I saw a forklift, with the propane tank valve completely opened, I would write up the operator of that piece of equipment. Same with the welding shop. Valves are only to be opened 2-3 revolutions.

    I'm new to CO2 and I'm finding your information delivery very good. Curious about not using CO2-proof tubing on the output of the inline diffuser. Possibly because it is in the water return, diluting the CO2 concentration? Thank you!

    • @Natquascape
      @Natquascape  3 года назад

      Hi, so any residual CO2 when reacted with water will turn to carbonic acid, which in time, could slowly degrade the tubing. I think the tubing will be full of co2 and water will react to give carbonic acid, the concentration of which I am not sure. The reason I did not use co2 resistant tubing is because I got fed up of it not fitting tight onto the inline diffuser outlet haha, silicon tubing just worked better

    Excellent video, the best I could find about CO2 setup. So a new tank would read at about 800PSI, when should I refill the CO2 tank? When it drops below 500 in the red zone? Thanks

      @@allaboutvisual hi there, I have just come back from holiday, looking at my co2 art regulator I would suggest you replace when it gets to about 250psi. Ensure you check the working pressure, mine is set to about 45psi as I am using in-line co2. Hope that helps

    That co2 bubble counter on de pro se series has already a integrated check valve in it so that check valve is not needed

    Hi, great vid. Really helped as i just bought that co2art model. So how do you purge excess co2 from that regulator when bottle is empt? ..cause i heard that excess co2 can blow the gauses. I'm using sodastream for co2 with co2 supermarket adaptor. It has a dial on top that lowers pin to open co2. So once i turn off co2 of empty bottle then what..?. I want to do it the safest way without damaging regulator. Thank you. I just subbed.

    Hello! I really enjoy all your video guys. I have a quick question. Is it good or bad to place the Co2 diffuser just next to the suction pipe of my external filter? I'm thinking like this the Co2 has more time to dissolve in the water before being injected back to the tank via the outlet pipe. But maybe the Co2 concentration will be too high for my beneficial bacteria inside my external filter.
    What are your thought about it ?

    Nice vid! Thinking of getting c02 for my 60 gallon tank. Just bought the oase biomaster Thermo 600. Seems like inline is the way to go.

      Hi! Thank you! Yes....if you have an oase 600 I would definitely go with inline. I've always got better results with inline co2

    There is a leak where the tube fixed to neo diffuser. As it is under water it is visible.
    What about other connecting points..?!

      What tubing do you have on the neo diffuser, if it is rigid co2 tubing, swap to silicon tubing

    Is there supposed to be a very quiet chirpy noise coming from my system? I read a comment saying that I need to install a washer, but I didn't, I thought there was one in it already. I saw you simply tightened your regulator on, same as me. Odd
