To claim doctors are working less hours because of pension levels of any kind is ridiculous. Doctors have served us well for many years and must be 'sick' of this tory government's running down of the NHS, who can blame for the pressure they've been under? Not to mention those that have been told to get out of our country they are not wanted!

Worried about NHS. We have ran it down and now are clutching at straws to look like we are fixing it before the next election. Wanting healthcare workers to work long is not a solution but more need to be encouraged not to leave the profession whilst they are young. So short sighted.

@left_blank you can save as much as you want now that's true, and pensions aren't subject to inheritance tax either so hopefully it'll encourage some high earners to pursue a pension plan instead of buying houses to let.
Also the tax free annual allowance is still a thing, it's £60k, but tapers down to a minimum of £4k for every £2 you earn over £260k so the obscenely rich don't benefit from that.

THey typically do 12 and 14 hour shifts and are on call. The NHS is undersaffed because NHS workers are over stressed and leaving for Australia,Canada and the USA. There is a vicious circle where this exodus leads to more stress. Meanhile Tory donors are creaming it in running agencies and getting contracts for services to privatised health care. This is a deliberate running down of the NHS and the Tories are profiting from misery.
