It's a little ironic... Everything about this ost yells "This is the end, the last fight". It starts off tremendously, perfectly fitting for an ost called "The Almighty". It gets faster, a little less severely, but still as dramatic as in the beginning. And at 2:50 it changes completely, into a a rather elegeant yet still climatic track. You're just thinking "Hell, that's the moment I've been holding on to". And then... Tadah, true ending. Duh.
+GravityZero Yeah. Well, "The Mist" (the theme that plays before you unravel the true form of Izanami) was awesome. But well... what comes afterwards is just disappointing.
I don't have any problems with Izanami as a twist villain or final boss, but I do think that this song fits a final boss much better than _Mist_ -- I think it's too upbeat. IMO, the songs should've been swapped. I think the more upbeat song would hint that the battle with Ameno-Sagiri isn't the final one, and this battle is all about the fog over Inaba, so the song named after the event feels like it fits better in name as well as tone. _The Almighty_ has that more somber tone to it, but still a hopeful feel to it as well, which I think fits the final showdown far more. Also, the name "The Almighty" even fits Izanami better IMO, because she's an actual deity, while Ameno-Sagiri is just an aspect of her, rather than a complete god.
"PERSONA!" "LET'S DO THIS JIRIYA!" "HEAR ME AMATERASU!" "PROTECT ME TOMOE!" "BEELZEBUB!" "COME ON DOWN!" "ALL YOURS!" "BURRRRSONAAAA!" "THEY'RE WEAK TO FIRE!" "TRUMPETER!"
I've been listening to the full soundtrack for both Persona 3 and 4, and after much deliberation I've decided that this is my favourite song out of both. It really is incredible.
This is my favorite song in the entire game, and I know some new people will come here soon, thanks to P4G port to PC (01/2023: Persona broke free?). I hope y'all are enjoying the ride ♥
This is one of those songs that; makes you feel psyched, remember everything that happened in Persona 3 and everything else you have done in Persona 4, lastly a little bit teary because you are so close to finding out the truth… Long story short - This is the 2nd best battle song
And so you thought the game would end beating that huge eye... I actually did! Although I knew there's something "off" about that "guy you only see during rainy days", I had to consult a guide to find out the truth!
I honestly knew that it wasn't the final boss. 1. there was no scene of the protaginist finishing him in some final attack like i knew there would be and 2. The game already psyched you out two times before so i didnt trust it
***** IMO it SHOULD have been the final boss. As much as I love the Fog track against Izanami, her revealing herself as the reason the Protagonist awakened to his Persona totally ruined my epic interpretation of Teddie as the Protag's Shadow. I mean... he's an empty cartoon character (MC is an "empty" game character ready to be filled with player RP), he appears in the Velvet Room (the only other Shadows to do so are the MC's 170ish other Personae), his Social Link maxes on its own (like Death in P3, which was a part of that MC's identity), and right before you summon Izanagi the first time--barring the dream where someone taunts you through the fog--you meet Teddie. The writers would have had to been blind to not see they were massively suggesting this, which tells me they realized it. And then took a dump on all that by splitting Izanami and the power behind Adachi into two bosses for no reason but kicks.
Even if took Izanami out of the game and had just Ameno-sagiri be the final boss, this would still be a satisfactory final boss, and conclusion to the game. This song is just SO beautiful. :')
This boss may be my favorite part of this game. This track, combined with small voice clips like Yosuke's "Feel the mighty wind!" may actually have made this fight my favorite situation in any RPG. It was definitely one of the most memorable, at least.
lol to be honest my friend got me to watch it recently and i just blurted out lulu is gonna die at the end isn't he? and my friend was like how did you know? lol

Tsuken That's a fairly base dichotomy. I love RPGs with long, well thought out plots and strong characters. But Persona's social sim and anime trappings generally put me off. Not my cup of tea.
The social aspect just made me love the characters even more-so. The surprisingly solid translation made their friendships seem all the more believable. The RPG underneath it all is great too. I love fusing Personas, piling on, all that good stuff. this song somehow really does feel like a song to fit a situation where the fate of the world hangs in your hands. the second chorus always gives me the chills
Last round: Both parties were at their limits The Eye had only 173 hp left Used Navas Oculus with all the buff (Suku,Taru,Mind Charge) Yosuke, Chie, and Yukiko stood the attack meaning if the eye dropped the god judgement or other spells, they died Yu has only 38 sp to hit that megidolaon The music hits the second chorus 338 hit Fucking tear me up because how desperate both parties to win, and I'm not even saving the game from adachi to this fight This tunes really got me and I will forever cherish the 2nd guitar solo because it's fucking hauntingly beautiful
_The moment Yu completed the Star Social Link, he sealed his fate..._ _Entrusting his future to passive skills, Yu clings to a dim hope._ _Yes, Helel is the means by which all is destroyed..._ _Beyond Mind Charge lies the absolute end._ _It matters not who you are..._ *_Morning Star awaits you._*

Now you can fuse Ongyo-Ki.
The reason this is my favorite protagonist is that he shares actual feelings for otheRS, P5 he just agreed or disagreed Yu Narukami had feelings for Nanako and it was great and pretty new for a neutral main character.
You play P3 yet? Where the Protagonist actually sacrifices himself, and then keeps his lifeless body somehow alive for months to keep a promise? I hope you have cause he also has feelings for others; especially those he hasn't met yet (ironic since he is also the one that cares about very little)
@@zura8879 I kinda forgot it was. It was more so a response to this comment. Though... P3 has been out for a while; so it's thankfully not quite like spoiling P6 (which hasn't been announced yet)
When I hear this a scene always plays in my mind. A group of heroes has just been killed by a villain, only one with healing abilities is still alive. He uses his remaining power to revive them, at the cost of his own life, and then they proceed to kick the shit out of the villain.
I still remember that day where I was able to buff my whole team debuff the boss and mind charged and physical charged and got lucky and landed a crit multiple times at the end with my 30 hp and 50 so left
Ah yes, the most conclusive sounding track to ever belong to the end boss of the third-to-last dungeon after the game already acted like you might be done
@@mangovoid6368 Nope, Golden added the February dungeon and Marie and Adachi's Social Links, Izanami was always the real final boss even prior to Golden lol
I know this is weird but I played this song during the attack on Berlin in COD World at War when you play as the Red Army taking Berlin. It's really emotional seeing all the men die from both sides in battle and the tragic end to the Nazi regime but also the bittersweet victory the Russians experienced. Just goes to show how great this song is.
So... Yu: Izanagi Marie: Izanami Yukiko: Amaterasu Yosuke: Susanoo Sho: Tsukiyomi Weird... Well, it’s kinda weird for Marie because she is Izanami, but has Kaguya as her Persona in Arena Ultimax.
The problem is mainly resistances, on higher difficulties/later on in the game. You really don’t want a party member with any sort of weakness (though that’s nothing the Omnipotent Orb can’t fix :) ) Though I stuck with Yosuke, Chie and Yukiko the first playthrough as well - well, Yukiko never left my party for the whole 140 hours I poured into P4G, unless I went alone.
I don't recognize the first part of the song. I completed both the PS2 and Vita versions, and I've collected all the soundtracks (including the Reincarnation albums), but I never heard that part of the song before. Where is it from? It's beautiful...
I remember hearing the full version of the beginning, it was the Akasaka Blitz concert version, but sadly it was taken out of youtube, and just after my computer lost all it's information. What's even worse is that that particular concert is expensive as hell to get a physical copy, and there aren't any mp3 of the tracks left, so icannot listen to that amazing version of the song :(.
Chie: Godly amounts of damage Teddie: Nice support for my team(Heal, matarukaja, marakukaja) and quite good damage Yukiko: Salvation and her agidyne can do serious damage

+TjRoxas PO I kinda like how it didn't go to another loop until after the second half is played. It sounds really hard to pull it off.
공감!! 정말 매력적인 구간이죠.
this song somehow really does feel like a song to fit a situation where the fate of the world hangs in your hands. the second chorus always gives me the chills
this track really is the most epic boss music ever. i get chills every time it starts.
Triple Correction: Every game Atlus makes has the best soundtrack
I FUCKING LOVE THIS WHOLE GAME!!!!
Just made it to this song today.
Truly, one of the most raw and amazing Persona songs ever made.
Y'know, I've been listening to this song for over 2 years and yet I've never heard that intro... Beautiful.
Last round:
Both parties were at their limits
The Eye had only 173 hp left
Used Navas Oculus with all the buff (Suku,Taru,Mind Charge)
Yosuke, Chie, and Yukiko stood the attack meaning if the eye dropped the god judgement or other spells, they died
Yu has only 38 sp to hit that megidolaon
The music hits the second chorus
338 hit
Fucking tear me up because how desperate both parties to win, and I'm not even saving the game from adachi to this fight
This tunes really got me and I will forever cherish the 2nd guitar solo because it's fucking hauntingly beautiful
Epic song with amazing character and incredible story.
Agreed
How did they make a boss fight theme this good
helel + morning star + spell master + mind charge + almighty boost + amighty amp = incert this theme
_The moment Yu completed the Star Social Link, he sealed his fate..._
_Entrusting his future to passive skills, Yu clings to a dim hope._
_Yes, Helel is the means by which all is destroyed..._
_Beyond Mind Charge lies the absolute end._
_It matters not who you are..._
*_Morning Star awaits you._*

Just finished playing this game again. Feels.
> You've arrived to the Tatsushime Shrine.
> You realize the shrine's offertory box is golden.
> Even though the current circumstances with Nanako and your uncle aren't the best ones, a ray of hope shines upon you.
> The fox looks at you with determination and trust.
> "Will you help me until the very end?", you say.
> The fox runs in circles around you.
> You smile.
> Congratulations, the Hermit social link is maxed out. Now you can fuse Ongyo-Ki.
Please don't ever take this down! Thank you🙏🏿❤️
ALL YO YENS YIP YIP!!!
the extended is perfect for learning it on guitar :D
The reason this is my favorite protagonist is that he shares actual feelings for otheRS, P5 he just agreed or disagreed Yu Narukami had feelings for Nanako and it was great and pretty new for a neutral main character.
You play P3 yet? Where the Protagonist actually sacrifices himself, and then keeps his lifeless body somehow alive for months to keep a promise? I hope you have cause he also has feelings for others; especially those he hasn't met yet (ironic since he is also the one that cares about very little)
@@shadedergu9921 ...why would you just say that without even warning about it being a spoiler? lol.
@@zura8879 I kinda forgot it was. It was more so a response to this comment.
Though... P3 has been out for a while; so it's thankfully not quite like spoiling P6 (which hasn't been announced yet)
Well I mean they pretty much tell you your gonna die in a year anyways
Joker is a great character too imo
0:00 best part. Sad piano ftw.
"Mankind desires are my desires"...........Oh well
When I hear this a scene always plays in my mind.
The build-up really makes you appreciate the song more
hello bozo

@@nyx3023 DEMACIA!!!!
The piano part plays in the cutscene before the fight, when Ameno-sagiri begins forming from Adachi.
Getting here after 60+ hours for the first time, realizing it might actually be the final fight and getting to the 2:50 part, the feels man...
Yu, Yosuke, Yukiko, and naoto were my P4 team and I never regretted it.
Minato, Yukari, Mitsuru, and Aigis was my P3 team and STILL no regrets!!
Way better than the "true" final boss theme.
agreed.
@@mammothplant What's wrong with The Fog?
@@cameroncoates4863 talking about The Genesis, buddy
Noah Mamet Oh ok. That makes a lot more sense now.
@@cameroncoates4863 i know right :^)
I just love the second part of this song where it goes full on Pillows. That nostaglic feeling.
shit got me feeling like i’m fighting cosmic forces beyond the stars
Ah yes, the most conclusive sounding track to ever belong to the end boss of the third-to-last dungeon after the game already acted like you might be done
that's the problem with prsi s 4 having like 4 final bosses for 4 different endings
This WAS the final boss in the original persona 4, golden just added more
@@mangovoid6368 Nope, Golden added the February dungeon and Marie and Adachi's Social Links, Izanami was always the real final boss even prior to Golden lol
@@anewhero1216 oooh I see
Damn Izanamis dungeon was really out of place then
The beginning piano part sounds like Lighting theme form FF13
It reminds me of the main theme of FF13, The Promise.
to me it sounds so calm
I know this is weird but I played this song during the attack on Berlin in COD World at War when you play as the Red Army taking Berlin. It's really emotional seeing all the men die from both sides in battle and the tragic end to the Nazi regime but also the bittersweet victory the Russians experienced. Just goes to show how great this song is.
Damn, that guitar goes HARD at that last part
Over a year later, and this still goes hard.
@@theelusivepootisberd7471 youre so right bestie
I have an unhealthy obsession with this, Lucifer’s Nocturne theme, and YHVH’s SMT4A theme.
The Chronicles of Kingdom Hearts Part 4: War of The Chosen
Rainer Lovellina vs. Overlord Form Xehanort
So...
Yu: Izanagi
Marie: Izanami
Yukiko: Amaterasu
Yosuke: Susanoo
Sho: Tsukiyomi
Weird...
Well, it’s kinda weird for Marie because she is Izanami, but has Kaguya as her Persona in Arena Ultimax.
Pure goosebumps @ 2:50. Would sacrifice innocent children to the shadows for a chance to experience this game fresh one more time.
Well that’s rude
It's hilarious how this fight is meant to be sort of a "final" boss but it's one no one ever talks about
When i first time fought this guy during my first playthrough i actually thought he was the final boss 😅
When the electric guitar part came in I imagined Kanji in full punk clothing and heavy eyeliner just going ham
this song + you vs yamato in devil survivor 2 = epicness
I have been searching this ost for so long
You have finally found what's hidden behind the fog....The Almighty.. (Congrats for finding it btw.)
Sounds like you're facing against a giant god who wanted to manipulated humanity's desires.
Was the a guess or just a commentary on how they got what they were goin for? Cuz that sounds way to accurate for a guess
Quinn Tran A little bit of both. Saw the boss fight videos a while back.
Congrats on the 1 million views :)
Im glad people like this song as much as i do
Virgin river in the desert
Chad Almighty
I hate comments like this
Both are great songs
I prefer Rivers in the Desert tbh
Persona fans on their way to separate there games into different fandoms
Cope seethe and mald persona fans for
Lunar Dragon Sing is superior
I don't recognize the first part of the song. I completed both the PS2 and Vita versions, and I've collected all the soundtracks (including the Reincarnation albums), but I never heard that part of the song before. Where is it from? It's beautiful...
PERSONA MUSIC LIVE Velvetroom in AKASAKA BLITZ
track 16
this should've been the ending battle with izanami. its far more epic the genesis. it has a sense of climactic true ending.
The slaughter squad. Yukiko, naoto, chie. No argument
I haven't gotten Naoto yet, but shouldn't Kanji be in there? I mean, it is an RPG, and you need some sort of damage tank
Chie: Godly amounts of damage
Teddie: Nice support for my team(Heal, matarukaja, marakukaja) and quite good damage
Yukiko: Salvation and her agidyne can do serious damage
MusicBomb15 are you me?
MusicBomb15 LMAO! That's who consists of my party.
I prefered Yosuke, Teddie, Chie.
Yosuke=Masukukaja (+ wind block)
Teddie =Mediarahan, Matarukaja
Chie=powercharge+God hand
Having only played persona 3, I can only speak from experience with that game.
But I will say this
Kuromaru IS GOD
I love the music in this game so i am going to rebuy a playstation 2 just to play this
OMG!, That intro, always makes me cry!!!!
