I love that I was just watching “outdoor chef life” on a binge and switched to diving in particular... looked at the comments thinking, “man I can’t wait to get that deep.” There you are my sushi friend. Awesome to both of you. Hit me up if you ever wind up in mendo/fort Bragg. Keep on keepin on. ☺️
Congrats on hitting your 35 ft or 10+ meters as we call it here. It's a huge mental barrier to overcome and once you hit that mark the next 35ft should progress faster.
Great video, it's been a lot of fun watching you how you progress as a diver. You should really think about getting a three-prong, I always bring one along with the band gun. They're fun, great for looking under rocks and a back up incase something happens to the gun. Also, could you guys try making a dish thats a little larger, I'm always looking for new recipes and the ones you do are a little too much for me.
Thanks! and I usually do bring an extra gun along with a few extra spear tips along with a file in case any of them chip. Feel free to ignore our plating haha but the basic recipes are pretty the same. Romesco sauce does really go well with fish which you can oven cook or cook on a pan!
Paul Hoshi-Nagamoto it was cooked well, but I think the texture is better traditionally cooked. Could also have been the size of the fish so we might try it out on larger piece. We typically use the sous code for red meat, not fish so it was somewhat of a trial for us
Dude awesome video! Where are you based out of? I'm fairly new to spearfishing, but I shoot a lot of video. Also what's the quality of the mako wetsuits? I need a new one
Robert Giani we get taken to a fair amount of spots, but close to Monterey. Mako suits are pretty great and affordable comparatively. I have a 7mm and it feels like I’m not even in the water.
Rob Florence that’s my dive partner. It’s an ocean guardian shark shield used to deter sharks. I believe it’s the only shark deterrent independently tested to work, but don’t quote me on that
Matt says you should post more, I agree! Good content here !

@@SeasonsToTaste Thanks for the reply. I also forgot to ask how the texture of the fish turned out in the sous vide.
Paul Hoshi-Nagamoto it was cooked well, but I think the texture is better traditionally cooked. Could also have been the size of the fish so we might try it out on larger piece. We typically use the sous code for red meat, not fish so it was somewhat of a trial for us

must've been a tourist, killing wolf eels is kinda a local taboo since they eat purple sea urchins
Wow I didn’t know that, thanks
Box cutter w/on kelp or dive w/ urchin rake
What part of Northern California is this?
What's the large band attached to your ankle?
Rob Florence that’s my dive partner. It’s an ocean guardian shark shield used to deter sharks. I believe it’s the only shark deterrent independently tested to work, but don’t quote me on that
Quitters never win. Says matt
Came here from your video with Matts
Those perch are great for chumming the water, but not much else.
where was this?
I would love to go spearfishing with you bro. I'm a new spearo myself. Good stuff!
great video! post more!!!
Was the fish poached or raw?
i’m here before you guys make it
hopefully we do!
Kamikaze Gorilla :\
try not to shoot wolf eels they mate for life. all others fair game.
People like that diver are the reason why the California kelp forests are disappearing. Wolf eels eat the sea urchins that destroy the kelp forests :/
Post more videos is what Matt says.
What brand is your little processor?
It’s just a ninja blender! We do need to buy a real food processor though...
Start posting again!!!!
Cool videos dude would love to be able to do this sometime
Yo post some more videos
I hope that shark deterrent works on white sharks.
Don't push before you pull the trigger. You'll have better aim
get back out there and film with Fishermans Life !!
Never dive without a knife or two (one on your wrist, one on your leg) and always dive with a buddy or two, also...
2nd
yo
you didnt hit the table at all o.0
