Rosa Rose I didn’t mean to address modest clothes in general but people clearly don’t like for a women to wear modest clothes that “look foreign” or have a Middle Eastern appearance. I’m a revert to Islam myself and some people in this area between Dresden and Leipzig don’t like to see German people concerting and me wearing the first piece mentioned would certainly bring a lot of unwanted attention to me. And that is the opposite of what I am trying to achieve with my clothing choices... nice to hear that you don’t have to face those problems in Berlin, everyone has there struggle...
Samantha J Boyle I like to wear “western style” dresses or simple abayas that don’t look “Middle Eastern” because otherwise people will bluntly ignore me or treat me in an unhealthy fashion. Especially when I am with my husband I’ll be visibly Muslim (not wearing a headscarf yet). Not everyday and all the time but it happens to an extend where I fear wearing beautiful Abayas in public

Anyway I don't want to act like the haram police ukhty, but prom really isn't the best place for you to go. I don't live in a place where prom is a common thing (im from Italy), but from what I know it's filled up with a bunch of drunk kids, alcohol, free mixing and music.. I know it's hard to be different from everyone else, but keep in mind that obeying Allah swt is the only thing that will reward you 💖

So I have wanted to convert to islam from I was 13 but have never had the courage to do so and I'm 19 now. I have lots of Muslim friends and my boyfriend is also muslim and I finally think now is a good time to convert but I don't want people to think I'm only converting because of my friend circle or the fact that my boyfriend is muslim. What should I do. Sorry it's a bit long winded xx
