This video is the most concise and at the same time clearest explanation of Twilight Struggle that I have seen. Thank you for the time you took to do this video and post it to RUclips. I am a huge fan of GMT Games anyway and their customer service is second to none in the game industry in my opinion. I have played the game twice now and love it. It's not nearly as heavy rules wise as its wargaming brethren so do not be afraid to try it. The time you invest in playing it will pay rich rewards.
Great video! I understand that there are only two playable sides, but would it be possible to pair up so four people are involved in the game. The reason why I'm asking this is because we are usually 3-4 friends hanging out playing games.
For anyone that comes here looking for information on the games, the GMT website is down at the moment (due to a DoS attack) but the company is absolutely fine and putting it back up again soon.
All of the best board games have a lot of rules and are confusing at first. Allows more strategies and unexpected things to happen either from the game or from another player
Thanks for the review. Short enough to be watchable and in depth enough to be informative. Now if only you had free shipping over say 35$ I would be happy.
Glad you enjoyed it! Unfortunately, the cost of shipping in Canada (especially when you're on one of the coasts, like us) are just too high for us to be able to drop our free shipping any lower at this point. As our volume grows and we get better rates from Canada Post, we'll revise and adjust what we can, but I'm afraid we're limited in that regard at the moment.
This is review shows an impressive understanding of the rules and concepts. I don't have to tell you that, as wargames go, this one is pretty simple. BTW, don't forget to review Labyrinth and 1989. the very popular Space Empires, and family games Leaping Lemmings and Dominant Species all by GMT. Matthew, a good 4 player political game is Republic of Roe, the old AH game that has been re-released. Also, GMT's Sword of Romethe sci fi Space Empires is great 4 player (expansion out soon).
I have the same problem with two player games. I usually have 4-6 people, and I am the only one that knows the rules. I would recommend the Andean Abyss! It is a great war game, with some really interesting mechanics.
+bevrosity I think the dice usage is to simulate real life situations--especially coups. There were a few unsuccessful coups that occurred in history...

Nice review! Digestible length, but very informative given how long this vid was. Just ordered this through a local nerd store, excited to get it in.
Great review. Can I ask what was the music you used in the background?
Just finished my first full game tonight! It was a lot of fun. I'm glad this review helped steer me in the game's direction

No reason that you can't so long as you are willing to talk really quietly about which cards to play and/or take turns making decisions and the like.

Thanks, great to know...ordered!
Very well done! Very informative! Very clearly put!

Are they from the Magic Garden?
Excellent review, ladies! Unfortunately, I don't have anyone to play with. GMT is releasing the PC version soon so I'll wait for that.

GREAT WALKTHROUGH! Very easy to follow and cleared up a few different nagging details.

Thanks for the concise rules overview. Most rules overviews for this game are confusing, unorganized, and far too long.
Or for most other games too for that matter.

I agree with 5:50, although I haven't played this.
Great job with this review. Subscribing!
3:09 You're shelf needs some maintenance, it's bending.
Great review
Good to finally see some ladies reviewing board games. 😍🤓👍
there's dice involved so that's a big con right there (for me, anyway).

I agree dude. I'm super allergic to RNG.
Republic of Rome. I'm not talking about underwater seafood political epics here, OK?

What's New Zealand?
also her hands and mouth are in unnaturall positions
