Music belongs to everyone who loves it and is a conversation among all the people of the world. There is nothing wrong with being traditionalist, but to forbid anyone from loving, playing, or changing a type of music because they lie outside a cultural group is just wrong. How are we supposed to learn from each other if we erect these barriers?

I understand how u feel. However, Augustina Ruiz is from Uruguay. Tbh there's loads of cumbia bands but mostly stick to Latin America. This band and Alan Palomo is the only one i know of bridging cumbia into the english speaking world. Alan is mexican so that makes me proud ofc. But yeah I would like to see more bands/artists in the english speaking world. Gotta do some digging cause I'm sure they are out there, and I'm sure they're Latin American too
