Just found your channel and have been binging all your episodes. The Chateau is beautiful and I love what you are doing with/to it and your plans. I’m not a fan of the partition wall in this room, in fact I hate it but that’s OK it’s not my chateau! I am sure the end result will still be lovely. I really appreciate you showing us the work in progress in depth and not just the before and after with a brief overview like many channels do, it’s great to see. Good luck with everything.
I enjoyed the whole video! Hope we will see Mum And Dad again soon.It was lovely to meet Rachel and Archie.Sorry Jake and Danielle are having to deal with visa issues. You are all doing beautiful work. Love from Vermont
The tiles are perfect, great color as well as the walls in the joining room. Not a fan of the skirting board color but as long as you like it that’s all that matters
Thanks Lucy! Glad you liked the tiles and most of the colours! The skirting colour was quite a shock to us at first too, but its really grown on us the longer we've had it. It looks much better after a few coats - less streaky!

Hello Guys., great vlog again. Thank you for all your hard work putting it together! Crossed fingers for the French Consulate!!! Be well and be safe xxx
Love the en-suite wall tiles. I'm sure you don't care but I think I would have had one full height wall in front of the sink and door and left the other side open. Perhaps you could put a locked linen/ cleaning materials storage cupboard to the left opposite the sink. Great upholstery. Have you thought about using coving?
Nice to see the last remaining piece of the puzzle - Rachel - in the video! Great work on Lutece. Can’t wait to see the whole suite finished, so fingers crossed you get your papers done quickly. And a little comment on Danielle’s fabulous upholstery work: Did you hammer in each individual upholstery pin? Very neat! If you wanted to make it easier for yourself, you could get longer strips of what looks like upholstery pins but only needs to actually hammer in a pin every 10 “pins” or so. I think they are called upholstery nail strips.
Thanks scissors and smiles! Dad really enjoyed having Rachel and Archie at the chateau this week. She is back in the UK now but hopefully she will make a return to the chateau soon! Danielle has recently bought and used these nail strips and they helped massively! That's what she used for the bed in the previous video. Thanks so much for your suggestion though! :D
@@ChateaudeBruges Good to hear that! Hehe, here’s to many more re-upholstered gems! (And thanks for taking the time to reply! That makes all the difference!)
You had thrown me in a loop when you mentioned Lutece, as it should be pronounced like Lu Tesse. Very interesting video and keep them coming. I am very interested in your endeavours. Thanks again 🇨🇦
Danielle the chair is looking great. Dad think about wearing a mask when you make the grout, concerned about the dust going into your lungs. Also, have you thought about the humidity from the showers in the rooms, I didn't see or hear about bathroom vents being installed, actually I have no idea if they are even needed that is Dad's profession not mine. Sorry to see the parents leave but I am sure everyone will be back together soon. Keep up all the hard and great work, it is looking wonderful.
She sure has done a super job learning upholstery and putting intro practice on a few bits already. The rooms are soo big and airy that Dad was adamant that additional ventilation was not a necessity. It is also something that can be added later down the line should we have issues with damp/mould. :)
Really enjoying watching your progress on the chateau. I know you said you will have mics for future videos, which is great. I'd like to offer a little advice (not intended to offend, but to help). If you spend any time watching videos, I think the audio is actually more important than the visual. Most successful channels I have seen have really got their audio almost to perfection. When doing something quite noisy such as power tools or heavy equipment etc. Many content creators either completely silence the noise of it or make it barely audible. Sometimes picking this point to overlay low music. In instances where your viewers are going to struggle to hear what is being said, avoid using any music. Also the video volume should be consistent through the video. If your audience has cranked their volume full blast to hear, the next portion shouldn't be so loud that it scares them half to death lol. And if someone is watching while they are busy doing other things, their hands aren't free to keep adjusting the volume. Or if an advert pops on it shouldn't be 20 times louder the your video. Your audience realizes you guys are just learning the whole vlogging process and will be understanding as you develop your skills. You are doing pretty good with the whole thing. There's a RUclips channel called "Think Media". I'm not connected in any way, just enjoy learning a wide range of things. Think Media is a group of content creators with over 2 million subscribers. They give advice and teach various filming, editing skills and tips on getting more views as well as subscribers. I've seen people comment how they are saving vast amounts of time on editing and their channels growth. Perhaps while you're stuck in the UK and have a bit more time on your hands, you can check them out and practice on how to edit the volume side of things. Don't get discouraged though. Practice makes perfect and your skills have already been improving 😉. Look forward to more videos.
