In animal studies, white noise has been shown to be bad during early development. I think the idea is that the brain is learning how to do signal processing and differentiating different components of the sounds it's hearing, but since white noise has no pattern to it, it hinders the brain's learning of pattern recognition.

Infants exposed to white noise long-term can develop brain damage according to Neuroscience research. Effects include but are not limited to speech, language and learning disability. I’m seriously so grateful for this channel, and for you. Most “white noise” or sleep noise videos have tons of ads, and ads are not baby sleep friendly. I have 10 month old twins who have had a white noise machine running for sleep since day 1, but when we go on trips etc. we leave it home. This video is a life saver. 🙌🏻 we have played it every night on our week long vacation and my boys have slept soundly every night.

Yes this is a great channel. Sleep tube is good as well if u just watch the first two ads they have at the beginning than they don't play any. I've skipped them and havnt heard any as well . My son is ten days old and will NOT sleep at night ...... Tried this a a couple of day ago ...... And have managed to get a night sleep every night since the only time he wakes if first a feed or change ..... We even have to turn it off when feeding otherwise he nods off to sleep half way through his bottle XD absolute lifesaver

@@juliamassey7643 sorry for the late reply XD but yeah he doesn't need the help anymore but only in the last few week both me and his mother work nights and constant so hes been up and down when it comes to bedtimes finally getting him into a routine has helped massively but the white not was key to getting that going

Great for adults also! I play this quite often in my noise-canceling over-ear headphones- whenever there's any significant night noise. Always helps me fall asleep quickly too. It's hypnotic, with just the right amount of variation (reminds me of the sound of Niagara Falls)

When my daughter was a baby i made a cassette recording of the vacuum cleaner and it put her right to sleep everytime she was fussy.
