3:26 #9 was completely avoidable. Cammer switched lanes and maintained speed with an out of control car directly in front of him. Dude didn’t even think about hitting the brakes.
Exactly could’ve been avoided if they would how slowed down and let the person regain control instead of trying to speed by seeing there was almost a collision in front of
@@nerds-nonsense The driver was trying to save face by saying the light instantly turned red and had no yellow, when he was clearly just trying to beat the yellow light. These videos are a huge testament to how safe modern cars have become. If these accidents were in cars from the 1940s-1970s, like all of the people would be much more injured. Big props to the safety engineers at all of the auto companies over the past 40 years
Also a testament that there are a bunch of damn idiots on the roads that do not deserve to be. Be safe people and always keep an eye on your surroundings!
I was involved in a serious wreck involving a semi truck, and there is dash cam footage I do know that, but I have yet to actually see it. It's been almost 2 years since the crash. My lawyer had every excuse as to why they couldn't send me the video. I may have to go to the police department to see if they may have a copy of the footage still. Dash cameras are not that common in my area but as soon as I can afford it, I'm going to go buy one.
12:00 - That was not the truck rear-ending a car in the same lane; that was a car trying to get ahead of the truck and push its way into the express lane before the barrier began. You can see that the truck is already in the lane in the few seconds before the crash, and the first you see of the car, it is beside the truck, not in front of it, and the collision between them is on their sides, not bumper to bumper. That accident is the fault of the car, not the truck.
12:20 damn good maneuvering, im impressed with their reaction time. Wrong way hwy drivers are ALWAYS either very drunk or very old and extremely hard to avoid.

@@user-guigui01 that was my first thought ngl, usually I'd be like "no way the driver didn't see the truck", but if you can see the dirt road to attempt a turn to the left, surely your eyes catch a truck right beside it
gotta give #2 credit, that was the perfect maneuver to stay safe. She exited the roadway instead of just stopping, if she had just tried stopping, the car would have hit her. Excellent defensive driving
@@Roman-gy7pr I agree. The cops don't have ANY authority to reject somebody's video. They should take it and add it to the pile of evidence. That way a TRAFFIC ACCIDENT EXPERT can be the one to make the decision to keep the video or not. Not some patrol officer who just got the first call.

I've noticed in the US on the main Highways, when approaching slow moving or stopped traffic you don't apply hazard warning lights [HWL]. Here in the UK, it's common for drivers approaching slow moving or stopped traffic on the motorways to apply hazard warning lights, to make drivers following them aware of the abnormal upcoming situation.
You're supposed to, unfortunately in the US a vast majority of drivers are improperly educated and instead only turn on hazards in heavy fog, exactly the worst time to do so.
I just found this channel and i REALLY appreciate the messages after each clip with details on if anyone was injured or killed in these accidents and other details. And the links to the channels you got the clips from is a nice touch too
These videos are really a tribute to the engineers who designed vehicles that allow people to walk away with no or minor injuries in so many of the crashes.
There are countless car crashes every day and people whose job is to make sure people are ok. The world doesn’t come to a screeching halt for every car crash. Arrogant assumption that it should…
@@gianlucatartaro1335 it is called human decency to at least stop and check if the person is ok or needs help. Arrogance is looking away like you would do
I think I've seen one of Friant from the dashcam point of view The road is a 50mph, and we ALL know no one does the speed limit, and distracted driving. There is a light that does have a green arrow that lights up, but that is no excuse.
It's because there is a separate light for right turn only, a green arrow. At a high speed, and from a distance, that green arrow looks like a green light to all. This is especially bad for those with worse vision, or those that only glance at the road, as they check their phones. The intersection is not well thought out.
@@kylespevak6781 It's cursed because it appears multiple times in the video, and yes, it seems that people see the turn lane moving and assume they have the green light instead, which causes an accident. Lol
We have select intersections like that as well in our country (way far from North America) where a lot of accidents happen and we call them cursed. And with good reason, upon renovating the roads more than once they found human remains buried underneath. Once those are removed and given proper burial elsewhere the curse is believed to have been lifted. I know it's more of an Eastern thing to be so superstitious but still thought I'd share
Some of these accidents look like they’re fatal and I’m shocked when I read that there were no injuries. Truly impressive. I love seeing some people admit they were responsible for the accidents too
Even without tire marks, I will slow down, such blind spot could hide a whole truck, one should able to stop within the distance seen you be clear, be aware of it at all time will prevent most collisions like this.
@@worawatli8952 There also is a second problem, and also why you wouldn't slow down. On the driver side of the road, there is a protected left. Normally you would assume that on the other side of the road their left turn is also protected and drive at full speed. For some reason there is an unexpected asymmetry at the traffic lights
@@bonnome2 Well, I see protected left as just a line on the road, it isn't gonna stop anyone, inattentive driver would cross it without thinking, so when ever I see people waiting, I would move further right and slow down, in case someone pulled out, I can avoid it. In my country, protected turning lane is standard, I never came across intersection that allowed turning while another side is green, people will misjudged and hell will break loose. I was so scared when I need to do left turn while another side is green, never have to do that here, you just wait for the turning phase and another side is completely stopped. The only downside is busy intersections have very long wait time, one could wait for 4 minutes for each side. rofl
I love how you actually put a few sentences of what happened so we knew what was going on, unlike some videos which would just lead us to wondering wtf happened and if everyone was fine or not [(Plus why have I seen so many that are like Fresno CA)
I can't even count how many times I've seen these super hesitant drivers cause this kind of wreck making a left turn across traffic. If you're too scared to do it just wait until the protected light instead of creeping out at the speed of smell and getting plowed like this.
I watch these to help me drive better lol. Simple situational awareness can help you avoid most of these, but sometimes no matter what you do, you just end up in the wrong place at the wrong time.
#34 I've posted my own videos of people taking exits like that at the last second. on one of them, MULTIPLE people not only commented 'what's the issue', but those comments got up voted... 34 is EXACTLY why I as a trucker have an issue with people doing that. The sheer fact that people don't see nor realize that something is dangerous till it kills/injures them, is a huge problem in the US among other bad driving habits I see nationwide.
These videos are why I still check intersections for traffic coming when I have a green light because you never know, it taught me even more defensive driving because some people will push those stale yellow lights
@@UR_HR Because people don't know how to use them either and want to revolt when they put them in. We had a traffic circle that was built in the 1950's . 55 years later people still didn't know how to drive around it . There were crashes all of the time and even a gas truck that wrecked and burned down two homes and killed the driver. They then put four lane by pass in to handle 90% of the traffic and changed the circle to a round about . For the most part it's single lane and people still crash in it . They recently built two more where one of the colleges is and a long stretch of busy commercial businesses. The lights that were there caused hugs traffic backups. When they said they were putting in two round abouts people lost their minds .
#34 I gotta say that the little black car said "OH SHIT MY EXIT" and tried to make it at the absolute last second. For once the dump truck didn't do anything wrong
I feel like I had to scroll too far down to find this comment, but I came to say the exact same thing. When the caption said the dump truck rear ended the car, my first thought was "how did the car end up on the far side of the dump truck?" At first I thought maybe the dump truck switched lanes, but as soon as the rear end of it appears, it's clear that it's in the same lane for the duration of the crash, until it gets pushed into the center lane. All because one person couldn't just go past the exit and loop around, they caused a crash involving four vehicles that I could count. SMH, some people.
Came here to say exactly that. The person in the car looks like they tried to slow almost to a stop to squeeze past the barrier at the last second and obviously a large ass dump truck probably hauling thousands of pounds of rocks didn’t have enough time to break. People are so reckless now a days smh
The irony is the words on the pavement ... "STAY IN LANE". Holy crap people if you miss your merge just work it out! No reason to make it everyone else's problem too!
its looks like its the opposite, that the car tried to squeeze in just in front of the truck and didn't make it. so a way to late unsafe lane change across full lines
Well idk about country this is in but here in my country green starts blinking and that means all cars need to slow down as soon it will turn yellow then red
@@joeworks3809 - This video is from the USA. The traffic lights here go straight from green to solid yellow. We don't have the green with flashing yellow.
34 was not a dump truck rear-ending a car. It was a car who happened to run out of road right before the guard rail decides to play chicken with the dump truck who was maintaining his lane.
that would imply that there was a merging lane but it was a restricted area between the exit and the highway, so he just pulled a "oops my exit" and tried to pull in front of the truck.
#9 pissed me off. Some people really think just switch lanes and don't even attempt to slow down next to a dead stopped lane. Throwing caution to the wind
scrolled to see this lmao. bro didnt even bother slowing down causing more cars to crash like you see a car swerving infront of you and you speed up by the looks of it?
wow 12:19 is an amazing example of how familiar and comfortable driving can be to how serious and life threatening it can become in an instant. imagine if she was not paying attention and did not react in time. Kudos to the driver.
I love how almost everyone is just minding their own business while witnessing people almost dying in gruesome crashes a couple meters in front of them.
Didnt know where it was but i agree. There is something wrong with design of that intersection. All appeared to be about the same time of day, maybe bad angle of traffic light allows sun to make it appear its still green. Too many from one direction at same spot to be a coincidence.
5 actually, the one during the night at 3:35 before the first day one is also from the same intersection. 1st at 3:35, 2nd is 3:53, 3rd is 17:00, 4th is 17:29 and 5th at 25:00..
I'm pretty sure it didn't. I think it was yellow, but with a darker yellow, so it looked red on the outsides. But if you look at the red light to the left, it is very red, while the "red" in front of the camera has an orange center. Even I'd it was straight to red, there's no reason for the other to be going as they did right then, anyway. I hope he isn't found at fault. He did everything as anyone else would.
Adding in, that I've taken a screenshot of the yellow light and it matches another light to the right that would also be yellow, and that the red cross traffic lights are also the same hues as the break lights in the video. So I am 99% sure(I'm never 100%) that the lulight is just redish through the lense of the camera and it was really yellow. Which doubles my certainty that the oncoming car was in the wrong.
It was never red. It was a yellow light. Look at the right and left lights, they are all the exact same type of light set up. Red like is on the top, what everyone is forgetting too is every single light and direction of travel has a "yield on green(solid green)" which makes camera car at fault because they didn't have the right of way. It is/was an unprotected left turn. Oncoming/Cross traffic has the green light to go straight.
I don't know if the driver of #15 was genuinely confused or looking for an excuse, but the light never turned red in that clip. For vertical hanging lights, the order from top to bottom is red, yellow, green.
20:54 That intersection shows up a lot. I would like to see a report for it. From what I see, I think it is just as much a bad light cycling and timing setup and also driver awareness.
@@insanity6590 It's [insert city name], people can't drive here. Yeah. And in every city, town, village or community there is at least one idiot on the road. Freesno would do well to have some research done on that intersection to find out why there are so many accidents, unless this just happens to be the only intersection with a camera pointed at it. As an example, in Las Vegas, there was an intersection near my home growing up that my father did his best to avoid. It took 10 years, but the city finally researched the intersection and changed the light timings. Dramatic 65% decrease in wrecks. Seems they started once the surrounding community started a class action law suite for negligence.
21:17 The driver’s reaction time in the black BBW was amazing. They were hit and startled, yet still managed to avoid slamming the vehicle in front of them.

The same in Brazil. it reduces the risk of being rear-ended

I would love to see that Fresno intersection from a dashcam POV. HOW are there SO MANY crashes there?!
I think I've seen one of Friant from the dashcam point of view
The road is a 50mph, and we ALL know no one does the speed limit, and distracted driving. There is a light that does have a green arrow that lights up, but that is no excuse.
I think the lights are to high up ???
i think we need just that fresno intersection as it’s own compilation
It's because there is a separate light for right turn only, a green arrow.
At a high speed, and from a distance, that green arrow looks like a green light to all. This is especially bad for those with worse vision, or those that only glance at the road, as they check their phones.
The intersection is not well thought out.
What did you expect from Cali drivers ?
That Fresno intersection is cursed af
How? First one I saw was a truck ignoring a light
@@kylespevak6781 It's cursed because it appears multiple times in the video, and yes, it seems that people see the turn lane moving and assume they have the green light instead, which causes an accident. Lol
Who got the coordinates or intersection info for that Fresno one?
yup, it appeared at least 5-6 times in this video...

The only downside is busy intersections have very long wait time, one could wait for 4 minutes for each side. rofl

Idiots never miss their exit.
I was somewhat surprised recently to learn how prevalent it has become, in Aust & UK videos.

So many of these do seem to be at intersections, not sure why the states don't embrace roundabouts more..... Statistically far, far safer

Not the dump truck drivers fault at all. They probably couldn’t even see that car rush to get into the lane before the split off.

34 was not a dump truck rear-ending a car. It was a car who happened to run out of road right before the guard rail decides to play chicken with the dump truck who was maintaining his lane.
Absolutely correct. Had to watch it a couple times, slowed down to see it correctly.
that would imply that there was a merging lane but it was a restricted area between the exit and the highway, so he just pulled a "oops my exit" and tried to pull in front of the truck.

That intersection is a car graveyard 😳
I can’t believe that 4 of the different crashes were on the same intersection in Fresno CA
This is harrowing. We can literally see it coming in slow motion and we can’t look away.
5:18 I've never seen a light that instantly turns red. That was scary.
I'm sorry if this seems like I'm against you, I'm just using your preexisting comment to express my thought. ❤
Its not red. Its yellow.
Yeah, I don't know what video he was watching, but the unprotected left turn changed to an unprotected yellow. He NEVER had the right of way.

"Seemed to turn instantly to red" LOL seems their eyes should get checked up on

It seems to me that people just like to run red lights there. Everytime that intersection showed up it was someone running a red light.
