Mojave Magnum Mile 2015

In 2015 we brought the modified back with improvements, a T-56, 6 speed transmission, a 427 SBC that dyno'd at a little over 600 HP plus a 150 shot of nitrous. This was my second run of the first day. I was limited to 165mph because of rules restrictions. Drivers must incrementally increase their speed proving they can handle and operate the car safely. I ran 168 on this run, 3 mph over my target speed. After this run, I had to wait until that evening and talk with the officials to see if they would allow the run of 168. After much discussion, they allowed the run. This let me bump up to I believe 200 mph. I don't remember for sure.
The next day I ran a 180.9 using the nitrous and 6th gear. Because of the lousy areo of the modified we needed a lot of HP to go that fast.
In 2016 the new owner installed a twin-turbo 427 small block and ran an incredible 212 mph. Kudos to him. I thought the chassis was a little sketchy considering it was built for 130 mph crashes.
Mojave was a lot of fun, I wish they could still run there. Good Times!
