Dude. this is MASTERFULLY put together. The aesthetic is on point and using lyrics as the file names was so creative. Also love the cuts between similar shots with completely different tones-- the drama was so on point. CINEMA!!!
I really appreciate this because those cuts were 100% intentional. I tried to make the intimate and violent scenes be similar in position and movement. It's so nice seeing it pointed out. Haha
I've easily watched this vid a dozen times. incredible. one of the things I find fascinating about the use of Atelier's animations in the Signalis fandom is like... they're not really representative of the gameplay experience, but they're really evocative of how you feel by the end of the game. it's all classic Resident Evil third person tank controls gameplay with a pretty ambiguous narrative (until the latter half, sort of) but she really captures the desperation, the intensity, the devotion you feel as Elster falls deeper and deeper in the pursuit of keeping her promise. at least, that's how I felt about it.
HOLY SHIT this is so badass. the complexity of the effects, the brilliant adherence to the style of the game, the harrowing tension, the perfect use and timing of some of atelier's best work? if this doesn't blow up and get a couple tens of thousands of views in the next week it'll be criminal. this is fucking amazing. liking and subscribing for algo points.

Just to let you know, I use After Effects. The video is made of multiple layers. All the screen effects and video clips are grouped into one pre-comp, and then the reflection sprite is a layer placed separately on top of that group with the 'ighten' blending mode to look like it's actually being reflected. For the reflection on the visor, I duplicated the entire pre-comp of the grouped visuals and videos, placed it over the reflected sprite while putting on the 'add' blending mode, then shrunk it to the size of the reflected visor, warped it to match the distorted shape and finally used the 'mosaic' and 'posterize' tool to pixelate the image and decrease detail!

0:59 sensual and switching to sadistic violence its a mix alright that is all for love. Editing is top notch. 1:38 even that last touch of a face lift. Not that disturbing as it gives the idea "put your best face on when you see someone important."

Thank you! I used Adobe After Effects to edit this video. I extracted the games files to use it's sprites for reference and assets.
