Something about the era, such great manners, well spoken English, old fashion morals, even the criminals are somewhat kind.

I do love this era, when (things) were a lot better, and I do miss all of them so much

these are my favorite. Sherlock isn't arrogant to the point one wants to slap him and Watson, a trained army doctor has brains. Estrade is also given a more exceptable role. only the other tv version of more humane characters is a comparison. they are human.

Reginald Howard's Sherlock Holmes is my favorite, beating Basil Rathbone hands down, though producer Sheldon Reynold's relaunch of this series in 1956 with updated scripts and with Geoffrey Whitehead as Sherlock Holmes is also a fav.

@@bobschmidt3610 Sorry. Ronald is listed as Reginald in some of his stage credits. It is like Tom Cruise and his tongue-twisting real name. I think he stuck with Ronald because it is more tonally balanced.

@@janetstanfield7053 I know, but if you dig, he had some credits as Reginald in local theatre. Either that, or his contractors got the playbills wrong. Maybe like gals named Dillion are often miss-billed as Dillon?

I love how they all just walk away from the scene like, "Oh, well. Seems he's dead then. Job done."
And how about that Lestrade? nice shot.

Does anyone else think that Holmes' theme music is suspiciously similar to the Dr Zhivago theme? It takes a wrong turn at the end of the second bar.

Ronald Howard is a good actor but his Holmes is too laconic. H Msrion Crawford lends nithing tonhis Watson other thsn being serviceable. Still the plots while obvious are fine for a 30 minute wnodunnit
