#Sherlock Holmes was a detective television series aired in syndication in the fall of 1954, based on the Sherlock Holmes stories of Arthur Conan Doyle. The 39 half-hour mostly original stories were produced by Sheldon Reynolds and filmed in France by Guild Films, starring Ronald Howard as Holmes and H. Marion Crawford as Watson.

Something about the era, such great manners, well spoken English, old fashion morals, even the criminals are somewhat kind.
I do love this era, when (things) were a lot better, and I do miss all of them so much
these are my favorite. Sherlock isn't arrogant to the point one wants to slap him and Watson, a trained army doctor has brains. Estrade is also given a more exceptable role. only the other tv version of more humane characters is a comparison. they are human.
Reginald Howard's Sherlock Holmes is my favorite, beating Basil Rathbone hands down, though producer Sheldon Reynold's relaunch of this series in 1956 with updated scripts and with Geoffrey Whitehead as Sherlock Holmes is also a fav.
Reginald Howard? Check again 🤣🤣🤣
@@bobschmidt3610 Sorry. Ronald is listed as Reginald in some of his stage credits. It is like Tom Cruise and his tongue-twisting real name. I think he stuck with Ronald because it is more tonally balanced.
His name is Ronald
@@janetstanfield7053 I know, but if you dig, he had some credits as Reginald in local theatre. Either that, or his contractors got the playbills wrong. Maybe like gals named Dillion are often miss-billed as Dillon?
Basil Rathbone IS Sherlock Holmes.
these make me. Miss my aunt. Whom I watched with. A long time. Ago. ! Late night t v. On. Friday
4:15, “….of course he’s got something on his mind, you idiot; he’s got killing on his mind!!!”
Thank you 🤩🤩🤩💖💖
I love how they all just walk away from the scene like, "Oh, well. Seems he's dead then. Job done."
And how about that Lestrade? nice shot.
9:12, LaStrade hesitates to call on Holmes.
Does anyone else think that Holmes' theme music is suspiciously similar to the Dr Zhivago theme? It takes a wrong turn at the end of the second bar.
When I hear it I think of Billy Joel's The Stranger
"Thistle puzzle them..." said the cereal killer. "Where I've bean...no pulse."
😮
🧐
🙄
😅
Holmes was closer to the jam than Watson 😂😂😂😂
Would someone recount the volunteer decoy novice s tale please
Poor chap had short roll 5:00 just a hand and a bit of uniform

great show but the story didnt make a wink of common sense 2 sets of men pacing at all exxits guy wouldn't come within a mile
Thanks 1945 speakers speak
Not much Conan Doyle here?
Ronald Howard is a good actor but his Holmes is too laconic. H Msrion Crawford lends nithing tonhis Watson other thsn being serviceable. Still the plots while obvious are fine for a 30 minute wnodunnit
