I'm a Blazer lifer and Dame has supplanted Rasheed Wallace as my favorite Trail Blazer. Love everything about the dude: his attitude, his leadership, his game, his loyalty...its time for him to move on, it's time for us to move on. Let the man go compete for a ring and let us develop the young guys and get on with the rebuild
I love how public perception about Dame has slowly shifted this offseason. His whole persona has been about loyalty and "not running from the grind" and that's made him extremely likeable as one of the few superstars that's loyal to a fault. And while he's still that same guy, I think everyone has gained the sense that Dame deep down wants to leave but he doesn't it to hurt his reputation. And I understand that, I do. But honestly I think this little dance Dame and the Blazers is only causing unnecessary drama and unwanted publicity. And I don't think he's doing himself or the Blazers any favors by staying. The Blazers are not a free agent market, they are not going to make big moves outside of resigning Grant, and while they do have the young assets, are they really going to mortgage that up for a possible Play-In spot? I don't care how much they say it, there's no way they can realistically turn this roster from a bottom seed to a contender.
The truth is DAMIAN LILLARD doesn’t want to be traded. He knows if he gets traded the expectations will be high and he will be required to deliver a championship. As long as he stays in Portland he will never get the backlash all these other superstars get. He thinks he’s smart. IF DAME DEMANDS A TRADE HE WILL BE TRADED. stop making excuses for this guy.
Seriously, like why are people not seeing this? He clearly doesn't want to leave. Whether he has it good in Portland (money, career, family, etc) or cause he doesn't want to fail elsewhere, whatever his reason he doesn't want to go or he would've already. I don't get why the media keeps trying to force him out. Some ppl are fine being mediocre.
And they were able to pay him the most, not every player cares to win a ring. KD didnt/doesnt, just had to do a cheat code to get 2 to shut ppl up on social media. Dame isnt thin skinned and insecure like KD, he doesnt care. Just get paid and take care of your family
Dame put his foot in his mouth with the loyalty/grind talk. He doesn't want to be a hypocrite by asking out of Portland. He seems to be a man of principle so going back on his word seems unlikely. Moral of the story: Be careful of what you say
Dame dont wanna leave. If he stays, hes the king of Portland and will be the guy who never left, gave his all. If he leaves, now the pressure to actually win gets real. I think hes ducking the smoke
This conversation is so old. If he really wanted to leave he would’ve done so already. He doesn’t want to win. That’s his choice. Who’s going to come to Portland and team up? No one that’s who.
Damian is creative and smart he loyal to the core he loves the City and Portland adore this guy with his god giving talent it was always magical when he plays but Portland trailblazers drafting scoot will not mesh with dame game personally he will feel some type of way until he stop Sacrificing for Social Norms. ❤
Seriously on both teams. He’s the definition of ring chasing when u go to a team that’s already playoff bound and play a few snaps. He wasn’t a factor at all in the 2 rings he got. But in his head he’s the reason why 😂😂
No. Portland doesn't seem to have the funds to get another superstar. Lillard gives them 150% every time, single game & put them on the map. Portland fans love him. He loves Portland largely because his family is happy there. It makes sense that Portland tries to get quality pieces around this committed, disciplined, generational talent as their budget would allow.
Scoot is good enough to go 1 in most years. They have the young players in scoot sharpe simons they can use to get better , better to do that and get young players n picks for dame then waste his value : old small guards don’t age well
I feel bad for Dame. The dude wants to be loyal and win for Portland. But the reality is they don’t really care about him. It’s clear they have no intention of making a legit run and just milking the last of Dame’s years. And he is being the loyal employee who keeps staying and talking themselves into that things will get better. But they continue to stay understaffed, not value good employees, boss putting the work on him, and the legendary pizza party. If he stays in Portland the sad reality is nobody is going to really remember Dame. His name will come up every once in awhile with top NBA list and loyalty talk. Loyalty talk about how it can backfire on you. Kevin Garrnet literally said his greatest regret in his career was not leaving sooner. Dames put the time and effort in. His job has not done its part. It’s simply time to move on to potentially greener pastures.
The Blazers floor next season is the playin and their ceiling is a 1st rd exit. Sorry Dame. Your team is just notngood enough. But go and score 80 points while Jokic and Murray will go for another title run.
I believe this is what's going on. Portland is saying they're committed to Dame is a way to make teams offer everything they have for a player who's "untouchable" Sometimes you have to force someone into the right situation. Dame might be happy now but he could/will be happier fighting for a championship. Portland has already gotten the pieces for the rebuild without trading their superstar. Imagine the return they could get in a Dame trade.
Why is the media so pressed for Dame to leave Portland? He said he's loyal so when he decides it's time let him say that Most of these takes are selfish anyway. "I want to see him on a winning team", "he's too talented to stay there, go show out on a better team" etc
Hey LeSean, I do know a song titled "It's Not You, It's Me." The relationship is not working anymore, but nobody wants to be responsible for the breakup. I think Dame is also afraid of change. I hope I'm wrong. Loyalty is a myth in sports.
They rightfully put "the Dame show" in the bottom of the screen because that is all the basketball stuff they talk about. In fact, this is just a rinse & repeat of what they talked about yesterday. My gosh what is up with these networks and this Dame talk LITERALLY EVERY DAY? Lol Sheesh. I'm honestly not even gonna watch this segment but still gonna comment.
Depends on the teams goals. Some teams goals isn't too win championships but to remain profitable. No team is going to tell their fans they don't care about winning but internally they know.
We just need to start following dame around 24-7 and recording his bathroom breaks,,,this is getting RIDICULOUS,I can't wait till summer league starts, smh
They throwing the word "great" around too much when it comes to Dame. People keep tryna bring up the KG comparison, but KG was an MVP, led the league in rebounding a few times, multiple all nba 1st teams and all defensive first teams, and even won an all star game MVP lol. If Dame wants to stay loyal to Portland, that's good for him. But don't credit him for staying and still give him praise as a championship player who just didn't have the team.
Problem i think is that Portland wants something valuable in return. Any team that gets Dame could end up giving too much. Then, said team will not be strong enough to contend for a championship. Unless you are Washington.
..shameful that an ex-professional athlete takes shots 5 days a week at current professional athletes when he couldn't EVER reach their level of play when he played. Welcome to the world of "Hot Take" sports television entertainment...where "never was's" get jobs talking 🗑
That Acho take about OKC is ignorant. Yeah they lost KD for nothing but they flipped PG and Russ for a million draft picks and Shai and Giddy are on the precipice of becoming one of the best backcourts in the NBA and I will predict will make the playoffs this upcoming season. OCK is not in purgatory they tanked, got talented pieces to build around, and are close to being a playoff team and being a potential contender.
OKC wasn't the best example, as they've high a few highs after the KD/Russ/Harden/Ibaka group. But Pacers was a good comp. They've been insignificant after PG left. I think the difference is OKC is well managed and has a great GM.
Yep Damian doesn't want to be traded. It's him who is wasting his own talent. He claims he want a ring, yet everyone in the world know it ain't happening in Portland.
Bringing up Paul George is hilarious.... dude pushed his own way out of Indy and he's been banged up every year since. The Pacers did meanwhile have a couple of solid years post PG13 in the playoffs with Oladipo/Sabonis/Turner
Dame already wasted too much of his prime trying to be loyal to these bammas who aren't gonna win.....He should have been trying to get outta this situation! It's on both of them....handcuffing themselves....not too bright!!
Dame needs to come out and talk straight. Stop with all these song lyrics. Man up and talk with media. Dame wants to stay in Portland I have no problem with that. My issue is he needs to stop talking/complaining about winning a ring in Portland. I keep hearing Dame is a smart guy, but he can't see Portland is not winning anytime soon. If they were in the East they might make the playoffs, but it will be like 7 or 8th seed.
Ahh, Dame Lillard…I’ve never been forced to hear more about a guy who who never wins more than I have with this guy. He whines every year about how his woman ain’t good enough for him, stays with her because he don’t actually believe he can do better. Sad really.😂
NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY IN PORTLAND! The last player Dame got to come to Portland was Melo and that's because no one wanted him. Dame has to let go of this fantasy of "winning a chip" there and move on.
And one more thing The cast is taking "no one wants to be the villain in the relationship" analogy. What about the person that stays in a relationship where they know the person is no good for them but stays anyways?
What'll you expect they're a losing Franchise...they don't know anything about winning. With a player who they know will never be the best player on a Championship team 🤷🏾♂️
He clearly doesn't want to. Stop trying to make it happen. In Portland Dame is the man. Elsewhere he might fail or might not do well. You're asking a guy to leave a safe job for a high risk/high reward job. His name is Dame Dolla, not Dame Money Market.
@@sonikspeed19 Dame should stay in Portland if he cares about his loyalty persona and playing the rest of his best years on a bad team, cause Portland ain't winning anything any time soon.

Dame does not want to request a trade.
The blazers don’t want to trade him.
