October 1st marks the International Day of Music. This year, it coincides with the Mid-Autumn Festival, the second most important holiday in China, after the Lunar New year. Enjoy Chen Peixun's "Autumn Moon Over the Placid Lake." It makes me think of Debussy's Clair de lune. Yet, despite the similarities in key, expression, and the use of the piano idiom, "Autumn Moon Over the Placid Lake" is uniquely Chinese.
I made this video to go with mooncake. Missing my China adventures, performances, and friends, I wish everyone a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.
