- I hope you will enjoy these clips from the 2025 Mecum Motorcycle Auction in Las Vegas!
This was my first time at the auction and as a follow up to the recent visit to John’s place to see the bikes he was taking to sell at Mecum. It was great to meet friends from all over the country. There were over 2,000 motorcycles for sale and it was a fabulous opportunity to see so many terrific bikes close-up, even the big winners! The Mecum team does an amazing job of keeping everything so organized and flowing smoothly. It was a huge production.
Naturally, you will see that my video clips focus on the British bikes, so please excuse me if I skipped by others that you might be interested in, but there are lots of other terrific bikes included. I’ve tried to include some of the sales prices (which include fees by the way)

Excellent video Mike, you certainly captured the atmosphere of the auction. I attended the auction on Thursday, it was very impressive, especially when passing through the doorway under the "more motorcycles" sign and seeing the hundreds and hundreds of bikes all lined up in rows! I was kind of surprised by the deals that could be had on many of the Brit bikes,,,,6,000-8,000 dollars for fine examples. And a little surprised by the prices the big Kawasakis and 2 stroke Kawasakis were getting. All-in-all a very cool experience !
Wow--sensory overload! Another excellent video, Mike. What an incredible assortment of bikes! Thx so much for including some of the sale prices; I was shocked at the relatively low prices for very nice British bikes, and higher than expected prices for the Japanese machines. I should've bought John's blue Triumph before he took it to Mecum. At $6,500, that's a real bargain! Again, thx for posting!
Hey, Mike, an absolutely wonderful video again! So many beauties… the prices were pretty unbalanced in my opinion; some were really cheap ( like the green commando fastback), others really expensive ( like the super-sport-Ducati-round cases)… best entertainment for Sunday morning. Greetings from northern Germany Manfred
My sentiments exactly.
Many thanks Manfred. Cheers, Mike
Lovely video and thank you Mike for taking the time to go in depth round so many of the bikes. It's really eye opening how some particular bikes have dropped in value. Definitely seems to be the time for 70s bikes now. Fine by me as I love my 60s stuff. I really liked the 1965 TR6SR at 28:13 which could have some nice tidying up and be left as it is and the 1965 TR6SC at 34:30
Well, that really is a big & beautiful auction. It shows us the changing bike values which I guess it's inevitable they would balance out with the Japanese...a great era & we had fun times on them 😊 My last bike in the day being a Honda GL1000. Interesting viewing, thanks for showing us.
Thanks Mike, grand job as always. Many interesting examples. As others have stated, prices seem to be all over the place, some warranted and some supprizingly high, some low. Seems to be the way auctions often go. Very fitting for Vegas, its always a roll of the dice.
Nice video, Mike! It really captured the enormous scope of the event. Thanks for taking the time to put in all the sale (or not) prices - that took some time, I'm sure. It was nice being able to chat with you a bit while you were there. Always a pleasure...
It was great to meet you again and to meet Roger, Corey. I really enjoyed the event. Best wishes, Mike
GREAT show! Some amazing Nortons in the crowd! A few good deals too! 😁
I was in Vegas last weekend and planned to visit this show, but having hired a Harley and ridden to Death Valley and back, I just ran out of time! So thanks for the video Mike! Amazing prices - perhaps it’s just a well I didn’t make it!!! On another note, if you’re ever in Dallas you should visit the Haas Moto Museum, well worth the drip from Portland!!
A lovely 1960 T120 for under nine grand. That's crazy. The prices on the Triumphs were pretty low across the board. Some of those pre units were way more affordable then they've been in years. Great time to be a buyer who rides these bikes and enjoys them. Not a great time to sell. The TT's and competition Triumphs did a little better.
👀Mike wow, your “my God” said it all for me when you entered the second area 😱 what an eye opener really appreciate your videos thanks again. All the best to you. Cheers Chris 👍🏼🇦🇺🍻
Thanks for all the effort to put this video together.
Thank you John! It's my pleasure. It was a great time, wasn't it!
Great variety of bikes Mike - Thanks…..I don’t think I heard you say which bike(s) you bought though !🇬🇧
😀 😀 haha, I deliberately didn't register to bid.. but had friends there who were registered, just in case 😀
Sensory Overload!! Thanks Mike!👍
Hehe, it really is when you're there too! It was nice to escape to the back room to walk around the bikes where it was relatively quiet. Cheers, Mike
Wow! Fantastic video, now I want to go!!
Brilliant! So, what did you bring home, Mike?
Hehe 😀 Nothing this time. It was very tempting to see some of those really nice bikes go for such good prices!
Great you were able to go to the auction, Mike! Thank you for doing this as I only got to see bits and pieces of their live stream. Some really good deals, and then some (what seems like) crazy prices! Glad John was happy with his sale. BTW, that hog calling style of auctioneering would drive me crazy after a while. Much prefer the Christie's/ Sotheby's style. Cheers! 👍🏍
Yes, I totally agree. I actually enjoyed walking around the bikes away from the auction stage much more. It gives you headache after just a few minutes!!
no one over restores like the Americans! their attention to detail is amazing
Hi Mike, three hours ago I return from Bayern...I paid my Norton 850...700 hundred Kilometers. In the next days it is at my home....but let me now say something in german... it is easier
for me. And you understand it.
Alles Gute Rainer!
Must have taken you a while to sort out the price captions. Thanks for doing that, very interesting.
Thank you!
Some good deals on some bikes
Was that Rickman Kawasaki at 3:28 the one that Bullpen Cycles got burned big time at Mecum last year? Mecum made the seller buy it back.
I remember that, half of it was missing and the rest had been bodged!
As common as Triumphs are, it's surprising how high their prices got.
Your unconscious completely forgetting what it takes to restore 50's and 60's Triumphs.
@jimifed2798 , no more, if not less, than any other British motorcycle.
Tread carefully with Brit bikes going foward.
Local classified market places have owners asking price just a thousand less but mixed up garage but they think they have rare gold because they don't see them on the roads anymore.
Thank you Mike, once again you have it Spot On. May I ask? Was that a White Vincent that I saw? So many bucket list bikes, I do not think I could contain myself.
Hmm, I don't remember seeing a white Vincent. Can you send me the timestamp and I can take a look? Cheers, Mike
Hi Mike
Seeing all the great bikes, it makes me wonder in your opinion what bike out of any ever produced would be your Holy Grail? I realize it may be an impossible question to answer and sometimes comes down to the one you are riding or working on at that point in time. I myself over the years have had many favorites.
just went out for ride on my 1968 A65 BSA 75F here might not sell after all...........
Good ol' USA knows how to do things at scale !!!
Amazing video, Mike. How many did you pick up?? Triumph prices looked awfully tempting. Great for your friend.
nice bikes i reckon i will be selling my fleet soon
What a selection! I’m thinking of selling my Ducati 750 Sport next year. Any idea what the one you showed went for?
More reasonable prices,overall.
Good,Bad,Ugly...?
Your pictures,do the talking.
Thank you,sir
I shared this with the Royal Enfield Interceptor Group
pretty much a bunch of grumpy old guys
just like me!
😀 Thank you for sharing! Best wishes, Mike
Mike,I will say this, that,if one tries to get on the Mecum site,to see results
you have to jump through hoops.
Thanks for your👍,and outstanding coverage.
If you cover the Vegas thing, once a year,it will no doubt, be appreciated by many.
Thanks a lot, I appreciate it 😀
The Vincents made good money. In the uk prices are tanking fast
so many bikes , so little money .
So how many did you come home with?
Hehe, none this time 😀 but it was very tempting!
Bikes with prices way over their real value. Some of them with visible replicas/wrong parts like the cherry Henderson DeLuxe that had Indian four muffler and weird intake. BMW r42 was probably 60% repo too.
