4:26 I bought the Signature version of FL studio very recently, and yes, Gross beat was one of the main driving points. What hit me pretty hard however, was the fact that 299$ is before tax. The real amount for me to pay ended up being 361.79$, for anyone wondering... EDIT: It was still totally worth it, just for the new platform and effects like Pitcher, NewTone and NewTime, among many others. I just felt like pointing it out there...
Yeah glitch, effectrix, halftime, kickstart, LFOtool, etc. really do suffice as replacements but the results are always slightly different depending on which plugin/method you choose
oh my god when i watched tron a few years ago i got to the daft punk part and went "oh that REALLY sounds like gross beat" i didn't know it actually was or that it being gross beat was significant. i just recognized the preset LOL

I LOVE GROSS BEAT AND I WILL NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT IT. Every time someone recommends getting Tape Stop, Kick Start, manually doing stutter edits, etc., I'm like... I already have all that, it's called Gross Beat. (I also bought Glitch though, been using that for years - and it's made by Illformed now, they're not called dblue anymore).
It would've been cool to actually show how it sounds for those of us who don't know, to realize exactly why it's so famous from the start, giving it context. Besides from that, great vid 🤙these history vids are nice
Damn, Gross Beat is certainly very useful. I used it to create a more aggressive pattern for a screech sound in one of my hardcore tracks, and the difference really is night and day. I definitely should play with Gross Beat more often with different sounds to see just how crazy it can be.
Nice video ! That sounds strange to me because i used grossbeat maybe 4-5 times only since i produce music (2011 and started with FL9), this is maybe related to genre because i don't feel i need to use it haha !
you are allowed to use them in the other version certainly, but there are limitations like you can't render out your projects in the demo and things like that. or if you buy the fruity edition, you dont own gross beat on the demo of it.
@@afunnylookingsquash you can render your projects out in the demo. what you can't do however, is saving/loading up projects. what FL studio does when you don't own a stock plugin, is that, that plugin mutes itself every 3-5 minutes. grossbeat doesn't do this, so, for my knowledge, you do own grossbeat for free by simply using fl studio
@@StalinkTz i think i see where your confusion is coming from. Yes, you do "own" it in the sense that it is physically on your computer and you are able to use it. And you are physically allowed to render out projects without buying fl or gross beat, but you have no rights when it comes to monetizing or distributing anything you make with the demo versions of plugins or FL itself. What I meant in the video is that you don't own it in any meaningful way until you actually purchase a license from image-line, but you can mess with the plugin all day in a demo if you'd like no problem
finally, actual in depth history on important daw things.
0:57 the big mystery finally resolved
4:34 nice

do you mean the start up sound of fl studio across different versions?
I’d second that.
Only one vst has the same or some more features.. It's called Mrymitizer from melda productions.

Already a good vid... 1 minute in🔥💯👀
Thanks 💯

I love Gross Beat so much I could marry it
what you mean the first version where you can use grossbeat for free it's signature bundle? it's fully free even on the demo lol
you are allowed to use them in the other version certainly, but there are limitations like you can't render out your projects in the demo and things like that. or if you buy the fruity edition, you dont own gross beat on the demo of it.

Click reduction > High (melodic)
BTW... video is incorrect. Gross Beat is not available in VST anymore. It is locked into FL.
yes, and I believe it was that way for some time, they discontinued their VSTs for couple of years now.
