Geraldton Wax & Grey Cotton Basic aussie natives you’ll see everywhere!

If you’re looking for a basic Aussie native that flowers in winter, doesn’t die very often, doesn’t need much love through summer these two are what I like to call part of the basic b%#h range… 🌻🐝

Along with kangaroo paw these plants are what a lot of west aussies & possibly Aussies think when they think of natives mainly as Geraldton wax can be found bloody everywhere once you start thinking about it.

So Geraldton wax makes a good hedge as it doesn’t mind a bit of hedge slapping or a large wind blocker if you have a big property, just remember if you have a small area for it make sure you keep it tamed after it flowers or it will get chunky like a monkey Ay’ (Also if you want to save some money instead of buying your misso flowers these bad boys are often used by florists as they keep for a long time in a vase)🌱

Yellow cotton is a good little boarder maker or bulk planting area plant as it doesn’t need much love and does a nice little flower in winter. Once the yellow flowers done it’s thing trim it off like a rose for it to re flower crisply next season also wack off any dead leaves it likes a haircut so don’t be scared.🧑‍🌾

Both plants prefer full sun but like both of my ones are in shade in the arvos and are fine so give em a crack.🌻
