I personally look forward to Firefly more, so i'm not playing favorites here, but Acheron (and also Kafka) were in a different league in terms of hype. If you don't attract the "mommy step on me"-crowd, you ain't got a chance. Plus, Acheron has her parallels in Genshin and HI3 and started with an incalculable amount of hype before people even knew a single thing about her.

Thats not very true, people were hyped for Firefly since Jepella rebellion trailer, in CN and JP her drip marketing has the most views and likes, and in official CN fanart contest she got #2 out of ALL Hoyo games, only losing to Elysia, while Acheron was like #7 or #8.. So saying that she is nowhere near close to Acheron is just wrong, they are at least on the same level of hype and buildup, I'd say that Firefly has a bit higher ground here, she was awaited for a lot longer that Acheron and Kafka
Edit: also if what you wrote was true and all "steponmemommies" were the most hyped characters, Jade would be on an unreachable levels of hype.. Amd let's be real, she's not- second phase in the most skippable banner ever, not a lot of likes and views on drip marketing, not a single story appearance (for now).. It might change tomorrow, but it's just not possible for her to reach Firefly, Acheron and Kafka levels of hype
@@notearatusmorpheus3525 i mean, i could be wrong with my estimation and measuring hype is dependent on too many factors to output one single correct answer anyway. You could measure the search engine spikes, the banner sales, the social media group/community sizes or how many simps tattoo the characters name on their foreheads and this would also probably highly vary across different demographics (country, platform etc)... honestly, it was a stupid comment to make from my side. It was mainly to give the content creator some help with the algorithm and i like to say something with more substance than one of a million variations of "i also like firefly".
But concerning your argument about the contest; you imply that the winner of a fanart contest is decided by the popularity of the character the art depicts and not by the quality of the artwork itself... and even as a disillusioned artist myself, my estimation of peoples' lack of appreciation for the craft isn't that bleak.
@@Aximanda yep, but still by no means Firefly is behind somebody in terms of hype, doesn't matter how you try to measure it. As for the art contest- I saw the arts, and I am definitely not the artist myself, but to me all of those in at least top 20 were amazing and on the same quality level, so in the end it was mostly the competition between the characters fanbases, which I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not, but it is what it is
Yeah, I saved for Kafka for 3 consecutive banners (and couldn't even get E1, pathetic haha)... I really want Firefly, but it's not the same investment.
