How does this compare to using 3D spatialisation plugins such as Atmoky ears or Oculus Spatializer? Is this method more accurate in terms of spatialisation or is it just another way of archieving the same result?

Hi Yeldo. Did you try on another network? Maybe check your firewall? If you still have problems, I'd suggest posting your problem on the Community Q&A www.audiokinetic.com/qa/ and add the launcher's log (? > About Wwise Launcher... > open log).

So now we have Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Auro 3D, MPEG-H 3D Audio, and all require buying into licensing pools, large turnover to use it, someting else, no chipboards to DIY anything unless you pay 50K up front, the one is used primarily on sat tv, the other on receiver and soundbars and has bad reviews when it comes to lazy source material, the next has little adoption, just messy all over.
Why is there not 1 open standard easy to use in games and software? The others are so aimed at home cinema only. Okay Atmos has some adoption in games but then you gotta have a bulky receiver plus all kinds of levels have to pay licensing, nothing small and compact out there to decode.

You mean like ambisonics or the ambix format?

Ambisonics is a soundfield, quite a bit different, fields only, 0 objects. It will give an impression of direction, but not pinpoint accuracy.
DTS:X and Atmos demand transport over HMDI and HDMI only, 3D Audio can be over any medium but it has found 0 use in computers (it did in broadcasting) while that would probably be most open and may use usb for transport.
