I designed and built a side table that needed to be less than 6” in width to fit between a couch and cabinet.
Using through joinery, I attach the walnut upright supports between two thick slabs of hard maple.
I hope you enjoy it. Let me know if you have any questions!

Nicely done. Perfect amount of talk. Love the design and detail. Nice work.
Thank you very much!
Such a pretty table and it’s hidden, it’s an entrance room piece. Thanks.
Oh thank you Steve! And I agree - it could be on display somewhere as it turned out great, but it's nicely solving a problem in a tight space!
I like the size. Fits in small spaces.
This is beautiful. I have a space next to my recliner that I want to fill with a side table. I've been thinking traditional side table with 4 legs...until I saw this video. It's a 9" wide space....thanks for sharing. You helped me rethink the possibilities. - DPAC Woodworks.
Glad you enjoyed it! Best of luck with yours.
Nice project!
I want one for near my front door. It is beautiful
Actually, I think it may look great as a taller, entryway table! Great idea.
Turned out great, you have a new subscriber!
Man these videos are satisfying to watch.
I would reccomend that if you're gonna put music over it it should probably go over all of the video, with exception to when you're talking of course, I was kinda surprised when the music suddenly came in at like 5 minutes lol. Alternatively no music would also work, or just using it when showing off the finished build. Anyways, praise god BillyMac.
Thanks Suny. I'm still learning as I go. I'll try that for my next one! Appreciate the feedback.
Watch those fingers!
Yes, looks like a risky cut, but it was doubled up, so it was over a 4" base on the table. Very stable.
More talking! It’s nice learning the different steps and methods.
You got it Steph! Thanks for the feedback.
More talking because it allows people to learn as they watch the master at work.
🤣
Did you finish with spray lacquer?
Yes I did. Wanted something quick and easy and it worked great!
Whats that spray?
It's a rattle can lacquer. On a small project, it's so much easier to use that rather than set up a sprayer.
Such a great husband! How many hours does a project like this take?
Haha, the honey do list never seems to get shorter! Finish one project and another gets added to the bottom of the list! This one didn't take too long - only about 4 or 5 hours of shop time.
@@billymacmakes That’s what happens when you’re good! Lol I can relate to what you’re saying.
