I believe it also gives you settings to pick your own set of starters or even use any pokemon as your starter pokemon. If anyone else plays the game I highly recommend playing a run of Modern mode as your first

I assume most people that start playing this begin wanting to play in order to see crazy fusions, but then they find out is a legit game and people play it from beginning to end. I really hope this motivates Joel to try some fangames at least, there's a lot of good ones like Reloaded, Empyrean, Realidea System, Atlas, Perseida, Crown, Clover, etc..

Nah the only ones that are worth it are those stat ups you get from attack moves anyway. Otherwise it's a waste of a turn, especially if you can defeat everything in 1 or 2 turns.
