  • If it wasn't for this amazing fishing we experienced in under 80cm of water I would have never beleived you could catch big Snapper in such shallow water!
    We're back in the Far North for day 2 of our epic adventure in our ‪@SurteesBoats93‬ 575 Centre Console. The mission today is to test out our brand new ‪@daiwanewzealand7206‬ 'Free Swimmer BR' Bite 'n Run reels on some harbour Snapper. What we encountered was some of the craziest shallow water fishing I have ever experienced - this is the stuff that dreams are made of! Definitely New Zealand Harbour Fishing at its finest! #BuiltToFish

    That's a fun session. There is some good shallow water snapper on the fly in the Waitemata in less than a meter - my PB is a 12 pounder but others have got up to 17 pounds!

      Yep when they are there, it's fun times. Go in the shallows were there are no other boats.

    What’s the red line you have on your free swimmer. Just got that vip 270 and free swimmer set up this morning.

      Nice choice mate, you’ll love that combo! No story with that red line, was just some Daiwa Sensor Surfcast line I had lying around so I chucked it on - goes good.

    Great video! How’d you find the drag on the bait runners? They sound pretty jerky.

    • @BuilttoFish
      @BuilttoFish  2 года назад

      Cheers mate, the drags great on them - I think it’s my microphone that makes them sound like that.

    Nice fish BUT poor technique in handling good breeder's then releasing them. Fingers in the GILLS folks is a NO No. Amen.

    • @BuilttoFish
      @BuilttoFish  Год назад +3

      Thanks for your comment mate - not a single fish had fingers in its gills before being released. All the fish that were handled like that were harvested for food.
