- Things don't always run completely smoothly on a Meet the Germans shoot... Rachel has rummaged through the raw material to bring you some silly bits from behind the scenes. We hope the outtakes give you a giggle!
Rachel moved to Germany in 2016. As a relative newcomer she casts a fresh eye over German clichés and shares her experiences of settling into German life. Every two weeks she explores a new topic - from unusual bans to meaty cuisine or haunted castles. This week: It's time for some bloopers!

The ones Rachel can't speak english. Happens to me a lot the other way around. Some things I can explain in english and not in my nativ language XD
Hard to pick just one. Love Rachel’s sense of humor and appreciate that you seem to be expanding to a longer format. They are all entertaining and informative and give me plenty of opportunity to nod my head in agreement. Rachel’s British English is a definite asset. Leave it to her to address the pigs as lads! You need to hold onto her, and for our sake, please keep her in front of the camera.

I highly appreciate this video because I always had the impression that there's a subtle undertone of arrogance in her performances. But now I'm quite convinced that she is in fact very humble, funny and likable. So I have to thank you for correcting my misperception of this wonderful woman.

I wonder if she is a real English or German person. Because both languages are like her mother tongue. Anyhow I really like DW because the crews and her are so creative to inform their audiences. Good news, soon I will be living in Germany for my Ph.D.

Actually this is a pretty interesting medical question - what happens to a brain like Rachel's when you are constantly switching between two languages which you command perfectly? Usually my best guess would be that the native tongue still stays dominant. On the other hand she uses German on a daily basis, so there is a good probability that her second language has "taken over" (in a sense). Need to look that up. Would be interesting to know if she holds her inner monologues in two languages and wether she mixes English and German when dreaming.

Great stuff, I`m true English I've lived in Germany for 14years now and I still can't speak proper German, but I get along fine, reason for being here,, I met my Wife and its all good apart from the Blitz Kamera and a few other things.
i also speak multiple languages, but now it's come to the point that i often find it hard to say a complete sentence in one language, sometimes switching languages within one word.... 🤦♂️

@@RachelStewart04 Hey, It was just a joke on myself, but I think it came out wrong, sorry. I mostly had good experience actually while interacting, but I never had a full conversation with them, but that's again my fault because I don't know German : )
