When I steam or wash my handspun, I don't leave it on the niddy-noddy. Drying it under tension can mask how the yarn will look in the finished product. I prefer to see if the yarn is going to hang straight vs twist one way or the other (indicating if it's balanced vs. under- or over-spun). Try both ways, see what you prefer. I totally get the ease of the n-n holding the yarn for you while you steam it.
Learning to spin is one of my goals for the year. I've watched and read about using scrap yarn to make a franken-yarn kind of situation which sounds so fun!
If you can commit to 10-15 minutes/day for at least a month, your spinning will improve significantly. I love my Electric Eel Wheels, especially my 6.0.
Ok that’s totally something I can do. You’ve convinced me to keep my wheel out now! I’d love to spin enough for a Halloween sweater so I better start practicing🎃
I received the EEW 6.1 for Christmas and love it!! I’m already knitting up a hat from my hand spun! One thing that might be helpful is I store and transport my spinner and accessories in a plastic tote that I plan to cover with cool stickers. It works great and I use it as a table when I want to spin in odd places. I have the battery pack, so can spin anywhere. Love the mitten you started and looking forward to seeing the other items you make out of your hand spun. Have fun!
That is a great idea to have a container that doubles as a table! Thanks for the suggestion. Have a whole collection of Halloween stickers I could decorate it with
Hello my friend love your brand new video on RUclips how are you doing today you are truly amazing I enjoyed watching your videos your friend Mr Erin ❤❤❤❤❤
Loving both the colors of the snood and the yarn you spun!! I'm not making a snood of my own simply because I have too many other wipes at the moment, but I am currently fighting a losing game of yarn chicken while finishing up my first hexagon cardigan, so here's hoping the Michaels closest to me still has the yarn I need in stock when I get off work tomorrow lol (it says one in stock online but who knows if that's actually correct) Also idk if Minnesota got hit with the same cold snap we did here in Wisconsin, but I hope you've been keeping warm!
Hey, love the videos and watching yarn being spun is my new favourite pass time. And great tip on drying will defo look at that! Random question what is the red yarn and white label on your shelf behind you when your spinning - point of the video I refer to is 8:55 - I’m loving the colour and I think might be what I’m looking for, for next Xmas thanks again!!!
@@AltKnots I do love it!! I tried some pedal wheels but the consistency of the electric wheel just feels so much better to me. I also really love spinning on my drop spindle!
this was so fun!! i loved the kitty spotting hehe. do you buy the wool ready to spin or do you dye it yourself? i know nothing about the process so its really cool to watch.
She snuck right in there just waiting for me to set down some wool😂 I get these hand dyed braids all ready to spin up. haven’t tried dying my own yet but someday
Omg that's fantastic! This one is the electric eel wheel and I've been loving it. I put the link to the spinning wheel in the comments if you wanna see the full page🎃

Another reason to take it off the niddy noddy is to let the twist have more room to even out.

I've seen that too! Started collecting my scraps from this month and hope to spin up some wild looking yarn

Love the snood! I've seen Abigail several times! LOVE IT! 🖤🎃🦇
I'm not super into horror but I loved Abigail. It may be something that has been done before but they did it very well.
It was an all around fun movie I thought. My partner who is zero percent into horror also thought it was a good one🎃

The red yarn is from Furls in their Wander collection but sadly they have discontinued it. It was my favorite red acrylic yarn for quite awhile too
Some spinning fiber you need to change how you spin as each fiber is different and you will end up fighting with it. X
Thank you for the tips! I'm just excited to explore the world of spinning
It's your family as crafty as you boo?? ❤
Some of them are for sure! My auntie actually got me into crocheting and is an amazing seamstress🎃
I have the same wheel!
Do you love it?! It’s been working so well for me🎃
