I'm so happy you've got her going. ❤ We're so excited to see her going again. Just as surprised as you that she runs after a little while of sitting. Excited to see what you do with her! We'll be following closely.
Apart from the wiring issue to the distributor and the points needing cleaning, it didn't take that long. Just wish we'd got the petrol first! She's going to be a great project.
I've always thought the VW Thing was the ugliest car I had ever seen. Until I watched this video. That thing is hideous! I can't wait to see it restored. 😁
With the utmost respect, I really wonder about some of the kits out there...I wonder _why?_ 😁 An ADO16 was probably about £50 worth of car in 1985...and with all the welding / paint / donor car / tyres required one could probably have a great little machine for under £500. Personally, I would have had me a Riley Kestrel / MG Princess done up nice...but that's just me. Great save, though...it is indeed a valuable piece.
Truly a fire breathing a-series, and running on some cylinders at least. Great start to the weekend chaps, keep up the good work and I'm sure the Borders sponsorship deal will land any day soon.
That does fit the description of a crap car in form and function.
I've never seen a dead horse brought/flogged back to life. Resurrection is real.
We are magicians!

It's not a looker is it?
@@crap_car That's part of the charm! It gets boring watching people restore the same models over and over again.
It certainly works hard for one's affection

It does make you wonder, why and Ado16 rather than mini. Only reason I can think is they thought the suspension was beefier? Who knows.
If you squint (from the right distance, in the correct light) then there's just a hint of Lamborghini LM002, but with more noise.
Bang on!

I remember when these were launched. They were pretty good quality if I can recall 👍👍
Why not bring this to mega minikits at Kitfest in March at the Pod .
junk.
