To be accurate, Crimea had elections on whether or not to stay part of Ukraine or Russia. 80% of the voting population voted and 96% voted to become part of Russia again. The Blaze sent a reporter to Crimea and he seemed highly annoyed that he couldn’t find anyone that was mad about joining Russia. The people were singing songs in Russian and celebrating. Remember that happened after Obama and his crew overthrew the elected president of the Ukraine because he was too favorable to Russia. Our government doesn’t even hide the fact that they overthrew a democratically elected president. Apparently democracy is only good when the person democrats want wins.
That's only part of the story. Wikipedia: First, the final date and ballot choices were set just 10 days before the vote. Second, before, during and after the referendum was proclaimed, Russian soldiers took over public buildings and Ukrainian military installations. Third, the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People called for a boycott. They represent almost 13% of the population. For years, Russians had been pushing out native Ukrainians and Tatars so that they represented less than 8% of the population. It was not exactly a fair and free election. Stop shilling for Putin.
