Wow, this is just great. I remember the video with Jeff playing with Danny Kortchmar and that version of "doctor" was just as awesome. One of my biggest regrets was never to get to see Jeff or CPR live.
Thank you Rich! I hadn't done a gig like this in a long time..just to get out and play in a more laid back vibe with the hollow body guitar...we had so much fun!
Brilliant. A wee bit surprised (but very laid back) to hear people chatting away in the background while the great Jeff Pevar plays! Nice rhythm section too! Something Hammond-organ-esque about the rhythm on guitar at times too. A special treat. Thanks.
Hey Gavin. I appreciate your comment. This was an unadvertised , spur of the moment show, so we didn't necessarily have "our" crowd in attendance vs, "hey lets go play Phoenix's new coffee house this weekend, just to get out and play", kind of gig. Admittedly there are times when that kind of thing might be happening where I will kindly ask people to please keep their chatting to a minimum, but at the same time, this was a very relaxed dinner situation around the holidays so we were going with the flow of the experience. All that being said, I've found out in the past if you simply play louder than the talking that usually cures the problem...ha..ha. Happy New Year amigo
I used one Go Pro 10 and I messed around with the footage afterwards in iMovie.... nice to be able to do some video editing in the comfort of my own studio.
Notes for the editor. Don't mean to offend but the crop shots, zoom cuts and dissolves really distract from the music, it's a really great performance. The only part that actually needs a resize is the cut is at 7:41 where we see there's a jump cut. Hope this helps for future videos, looking forward to the next one.
Hi. Jeff here. So you know, I have spent most of my life learning how to play guitar but only an afternoon or two fooling around with iMovie. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and as they say, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I decided to pop this video up much like I decided to do this gig, it was a quick spontaneous creative endeavor, without much thought or pre-conception ....so all that being said, if I were a video editor by trade I would either take notes, or if I decided to film higher budget, I would have hired professionals to do this video. As I am not a video editor, it is what it is. My apologies if this is a distraction for you. Happy New Year
That is true! The band consisted of a band my long time pal, Steve Postell put together which was, Leland Sklar, Steve Ferrone, Russ Irwin and myself for our friends 60th bday party! Inger sat in for a tune as well!
@@peevmania Nice sounding combo! One of the main things I miss from Southern Oregon, gigs around town like this. Please say hi to Inger for me, this is Gabriel, with whom she sang in my Swing Dance, Jazz & Blues band for a year or two in 2002-2003 range. I'll be up there this summer.

Sweet! Are you using a Strymon Lex or something? On some parts I’m hearing a chorus or something. Hot, Sweet and Funky at the same time Jeff!
Hey Jeff didn't you recently play a private party in or around Bend with Leland Sklar and friends?
