I agree with you. The part where they're on the ledge has some good instrumental.
At 2:18 I think some of the bass was cut out. You can kind of hear a deeper cello sound and then it just stops.
The actual bass track itself is infact gone. The only bass here is from the subwoofer track and the left and right instrumental channels.
I love how the kiss sound effect was considered part of the instrumental.

Some dubs have parts of the song in one channel, leaving the rest as plain instrumental. If you want to be able to tell which dubs are like that. Put on headphones, and if you only hear vocals in the center, use that dub for the instrumental.
