Yes, he's the only one in the current French squad who played in 2010. Almost all of France's 2010 squad are now retired and didn't even play in the 2018 World Cup.
This still hurts 😔😭 we were 2-0 up on the 37min against a 10-men poor French team...we had all made peace with a group stage exit but after 37min genuine hope & belief was restored 😢. I’ve never gotten over this

More accurately if infringement against Teko Modise inside the 18 yard area in the second half was duly awarded we might be talking a different story altogether. That match was probably more painful than the Uruguay loss for a number of factors which include the one I just mentioned.
I don’t know what about this World Cup, but it felt very different, like the special one, magical. I enjoined like nothing else and no other World Cup after that has provided the same experience.
I'm South African, and it was a magical time for us as well. The team did not get past the group stages, but the vibe continued.

Ireland were robbed of qualification for that World Cup by a referee favouring a painfully inferior French side that played down to the lowest expectations that could be had before collapsing into mutiny, failure and disgrace. So it was with a feeling of immense satisfaction that I watched a South African side that were already on their way out defeat France in the group stage and complete that squad's deserved humiliation. I was whistling "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" as the clock ran out.
Funny how FIFA forced SA to replay their qualifier against Senegal, after the red gave a dubious pen to us. Why the Henry hand ball game was not a replay yet a marginal call caused a replay is just French politics rearing its head against Anglophone African countries.
Ireland were robbed of a penalty shootout, not qualification. Ireland still could've lost that shootout.
