- A strong magnet, an unknown item in a shaft of an abandoned gold mine, a lost hat and a strange creature that lives underground. This magnet fishing adventure may have turned into the discovery of an unknown creature - hopefully we’ll find out what it is the camera captured deep down in the mine shaft.

That looks like a battery someone’s thrown down in there. That was cool to see the quartz snaking its way through the rock. That’s what the old timers would’ve been chasing.
Yeah, the quartz looked awesome! The old timers would have been chasing the ore along the shear zone, not necessarily those little quartz shoots.
That looks fun. When you find enough gold to replace the hat make sure you have a string to keep it on your head and and a metal hat band. Nice video Krissy

the long snaky like thing is called a flying tube there is a video where they are exploring a cave in Brazil where there are lots of those flying around no one knows what they are

That looks like fun, it would be great to get some old mining artefacts, but unfortately many of the old mines around Central Victoria were used as rubish dumps, but you just never know what you could pull out.

When using Neodymium (or, Rare Earth) magnets the poles reverse when ur south of the equator . . . so you MUST hold your tongue on the Other side of your mouth when using them in Australia . . . Pro Tip, you can thank me later ; ) And while humans occasionally experience photopsia and see stars or streaks of light, GoPro's have been known to have bouts of Gotopsia, thus explaining the Subterranean Space Worm : )
I have a magnet for recovery purposes, @2cm x 1cm it can hold 15kg... and I can use it with a fishing rod if needed.
Mostly I got it [and a reel of 104kg Kevlar kite string] for recovering car / house keys etc from drains.

Odd tho, that you never mentioned the strange markings / art / fossils on the wall ...
The rock art are little quartz shoots that you see all around the wall of the shaft. Not rich enough for the old timer, they dug out the ore along the shear zone ⛏
I saw a car battery and a snake shed falling down. That’s my guess for mystery item/creature. TY!
The snake-like creature looks like a section of snake skin that was dislodged from the rock wall and floated down to the floor in the swirling breeze caused by the 2nd shaft opening.

Hi keep up with great videos, that black box is a discarded battery
Your hat has metal rings (clear as day in trash vs gold 7.00min in ) ..take the rope off the pully and put over the top of the white bar. Put on opposite side of hat hang magnet 1 foot off ground. hold that white bar and slide of rope off it and it will have pendulum affect you will fill when it goes in cave and drop…done got your hat hope that helps

The Prospectors Patch is my go to shop for anything I have wanted here in the NT, they just post it to me. You should've had harnesses on and although it was a new toy,
safety is the only issue out in the bush, I did enjoy the video but Krissy we don't want to loose you, be more careful in the future please.

The thing down the mine looks like a bat monitor, but can't be sure as had no size comparison.

That unknow creature has been spotted before. But most people say it is camera glare. Yours look like peace of rope or string falling. That device look like a trap or a Battery. Look fairly New too. ODD
Seen another strange flying creature similar to the one on your video coming out of a cave opening in Peru don’t know what that was either 😳

All very enjoyable AND informative of course AND because my brain has nothing else to do I've been thinking about something which MIGHT be of interest to you, or not. Here goes; how a bout giving us poor little armchair prospectors a competition we could enter which would be to guess the weight of the first sub grammer you find on a preset date AND if we guess the exact weight to the 100th of a gram ( .27eg), we win. That's a hard one to actually win cause there is 100dreds of different weights as you know.
I know it's not my job or even my business to suggest what you might consider doing BUT I thought it may be 1 small way for your channel to grow other than by the natural process that it is now. O.k. Whoever retrieves the hat shall be rewarded with a one-gram nugget, it was a good wide brimmed akubra which I used to love. It's difficult terrain and dangerous though which is why I won't publish the coordinates of its location here.
I'm always open for ideas, please keep them coming! Might do a weight guessing competition soon 👍🏻

I think you caught a great bit of footage of a Rod. They are a little beastie that lives in caves. They are super fast and one has never been caught to my knowledge. They seem to use an undulating way to propel sort of like a sea slug does in the water. It is going to be so interesting when someone finally catches one. Some great video coming out of Brazil and their big cave that people base jump into. I can’t remember it’s name. Very fun adventure hun! Take care!

watched a lot of magnet fishing vids from Europe most fishing is in lakes and swamps some of the stuff they find is mind-blowing
I would put the magnet in a bag, so when the magnet attaches to something, the bag can pull it off. That black box looks like a lead acid battery..

Not worth risking a rock fall for a hat... Especially after we saw what lives in the shaft I wasn’t too keen on going down there anymore. Hey, are you heading back up that way at all?
Those little critters started appearing after HD cameras became widely available. I think they have all been removed from alphabet corp since, Either way. Lots of videos came from south american caves, seem to be many varieties, lengths and shapes, travel is schools ect. Cool Stuff. Can u access the hat from the side addit? try detecting loading zones. could be gooooooood..

Because it's so dry there is not much wildlife around, you might see the occasional kangaroo or dingo in the mornings but the heat in the middle of the day even keeps the birds away.
Please make sure you're using skin creme in that strong Australian sun. A lady must look after her self!

Goodness me Krissy you looked like a wild woman at the beginning of the video with the wind having its way with your hair. You fitted into the Kimberly background well. You can always look at a photo at least if you start pining for your hat. A detector on the wall of that shaft may have proved interesting.
I agree, very tempting to take a metal detector down there but after we saw the snake thing we weren't all that keen anymore 😆
