I actually like doing my own furry art and get inspired easily. I dont think I ever asked anyone to do art for me either it's my social anxiety or just because I believe time is valuable and I don't want to waste theirs.
It's awesome that you like doing your own furry art, but you don't have to worry about bothering an artist if they're accepting commissions! This is their career and main source of income, so they'll be happy to accept your commission as long as you pay them!
I always draw my own fursonas, they don't have to be perfect. I aways draw them on my sketch book, color them, and put them in my furry drawing art carrier, so that way I have something to do anywhere I go. I never took commissions before, but I heard that you don't have to if you don't want to. I'm not really a professional artist, but drawing for yourself or for family members is really fun!
That's cool that you draw your own art and fursona refs and stuff! It's not necessary to commission art if you don't want to, but sometimes it's pretty cool to see your character in different art styles! But yeah, I find drawing in general to be a really fun side hobby!
Thank youuu! So basically, an Art Commission is paying an artist to draw custom art for you. Its really nice that you offer to draw things for free for people! But if you're thinking about making art as a career or need another source of income, you could definitely start accepting commissions!
Hey Soren, my name is Ashley, and this is my first time watching your videos!! I love the way you described everything in this video, I love the animation you did of your fursona, it’s super adorable and super amazing!! Also, this video helped a lot!! I’ve been in the fandom for at least 4 years and I’ve always been looking around for artists to commission!! Thanks again for making this video, it’s super helpful and again super adorable, I love the way you make your videos!!
@@sorensky5692 I’m also trying to be an artist myself because even though I love seeing other artists art that they draw but I’m not that good at drawing!!
Just... one problem, The reference sheet is art in-it-of-itself And that's and issue because my paw on paper in an attempt to draw usually means a disformed mass of lines.
Thats a good point, and yeah I probably should've mentioned that. But I am definitely covering a way to easily get your first ref sheet for commissioning an artist in the next video! (Which is what the first comment said, to use a free ref sheet base template)
@@raphcraft2110 So, I assume you'd use the base for the base colors and general features, but how would you translate unique features over a base? I do appreciate the advice!
@@Arckua Do you mean unique features as in features related to your chosen species? Because there should be free base refs for almost every species that include all their features.
A ref sheet is definitely appreciated by artists, especially if you're getting a full body commission. But if you're just getting a headshot, then another ref of just your fursona's head should be fine, but you should ask the artist what they prefere to have as a reference. But if you don't have a ref sheet yet, I'd probably prioritize that if you can, unless you're just getting a headshot or another simple commission. (Unless of course you have absolutely no reference image as to what your fursona looks like, then I'd prioritize getting at least some image that an artist can use as a reference.)
@@sorensky5692 Hi again, sorry if im anoying u but im thinking of how to make my fursona, but idk if u can comision a ref sheet and then art of my fursona in a same comision or u need to do It separately. Have a greate day!

Thank u soren for detailed steps through this process! I am tired asking for free art because it always ends up in low value!
This is really useful for commissioners, and I'm glad you consider the artist in the situation
Yeah ofc! You always gotta be respectful artists! And thanks for watching! 😁

There are some free-to-use ref sheet bases out there, just gotta fill out the colors

What apps to use if you can use in a young age???
What are you prepared to sacrifice?
As a new furry on the fandom, do u need a ref sheet to make a comision? Apart from that greate video
