I noticed that too, you banged two wrenches against the chrome muffler at the end. You may want to put towels over the chrome muffler next time or be real careful. That's one reason I don't take my bike to a mechanic LOL. Also you probably should have mentioned that you have to adjust the shock sag based on the weight of the rider. And if you buy shocks on Amazon be sure to ask the seller if you have the right shocks, I almost bought the wrong ones. I think most negative reviews on shocks are from installing the wrong shock on a bike, they all look so similar, there are different lengths and spring tensions from the same manufacturer, they all look nearly identical.
Mine are being delivered soon. Nice job and good of you to be careful no to nick the chrome, unlike another vid I saw where the guy was banging tools and parts all over the bike!
Great video, but I have a quick question.. Im not replacing the shocks but trying to get saddle bag hangers off so I can replace them with the quick attach kit, unfortunately the hangers are mounted with the shocks and Im wondering if a floor jack will stabalize the bike enough to get the top of the shock off.. Can you please advise.. Thank You Tammy
i see you used a star on the shockes, Have you ever had a bolt strip with proper pound pressure, i added docking kit for back rest yesterday i bought from adam smith in bedford tx, on my bike and instructions say 12-18 pounds pressure. two of the bolts wallarded out at only 13 pounds!! Have you seen or heard of this??? Has harley gotten cheap on their products??
Thanks for the great video! Question though - why is it necessary to adjust the Jack in order to line up the new shocks for installation? Does the distance between the bolts change after removing the old shocks?
michael mcgarrah You may need to; lowering the bike will tighten up your belt, raising it will loosen your belt. After shock install, test belt tightness and adjust.

this was very helpful. i installed my progressives in 20 minutes (thread glue made it tough to torque)
What size handle bars are those? They look great

Best thing you can do on a Sportster. I went Progressive 412, best $275 I’ve spent on her.
Great Video! Do these shocks lower the back end 1"? Seat height must be lower also? Thanks
Awesome, thank you.

Thanks your a good man
When you don't have a nice steady jack, doing one side at a time is the only way I can do this on my 1983 FXWG.
Art Warmanen so i can just do it one at a time with the bike in its regular parked position?
STEVE VECC I did it that way, when Changing the last time I put same length shocks. Not shorter shocks like here.
Art Warmanen ok cool, thanks
The chrome paint on my Burley shocks chipped away and now they are rusted. Dont waste your money and time with that brand. Great vid though!
G'day, what tension to you set it at?
Nice setup..are these shocks pretty comfortable?
What size wrench did you use on the nut for the lower end of the shock?

Great stuff thanks
Do you guys sell replacement bushings for progressive shocks

All harley products are cheap. It's Chinese afterall.
Nice vid! I have a set of these on my street glide.
i have a road king that i converted into a street glide how do u like the ride with these shocks
I just replaced the shocks on my 2012 StreetGlide with Drag Specialities 1310-1313 shocks. Much better ride than the OEM air shocks.
Do you have to replace the belt when increasing ride height from 12" to 14"?
nope. Just check belt tension.
Thanks for sharing
430 progressive kit spacers, they don't fit in threw the plastic bolt hole do I cut that out and than put the spacer in? its a 95 fxd super glide!
what size wrench did u use for the inside lower bolt
Just now getting a set and wanted to reply ¾.
Thanks for the great video! Question though - why is it necessary to adjust the Jack in order to line up the new shocks for installation? Does the distance between the bolts change after removing the old shocks?
We installed a shorter set of shocks so the bike needed to be lowered.
Great video...thank you!
Good video.
Hello sir, do we need to adjust the belt tension when we apply the shorter shock? Ex. Replace 13" shock with 11"
laplace1234 More than likely you will have to adjust belt tension with that much of a change in height. You should check it for sure.
Yep,,, most likely the belt will be tighter and could bus the cases on the transmission or damage your belt,,. ???
can you add lowering blocks with the slammer shocks
You would most likely end up with your tire hitting the fender and or taillight wiring.
can u set the sag on these
Anyone know what the advantage is of Burly vs Stock?
How to adjust these shocks??
What size torn not is used to remove the strut cover to change out taillight?
torx bit not torn out
What size bolts are they, 3/4 or 19mm?
3/4
do you have to do anything with the belt?
michael mcgarrah You may need to; lowering the bike will tighten up your belt, raising it will loosen your belt. After shock install, test belt tightness and adjust.
what is the torx size ?
T50
Tool sizes would've been helpful
no info on what tool sizes used
T50 torx
The torque down got me worried I dont have the right tools I'll just take it to a harley dealer instead 🤤
Would save a bunch of cash buying the torque wrench and doing it yourself !
@@jpcycles i mean they are only gonna charge me £20 labour
Torque the nut not the bolt braugh.
douchebag brau
Break the nut loose first then back out the Torx Bolt,,,. That nut is acting like a jam nut,,,. Always and Forever on everything,,. !!!
What size torx was that you used to remove the shocks?
