To me it feels like Adobe have another me-too product with Express, a bit like XD was to more successful non-Adobe products like Sketch, Figma (pre adobe). They didn't really hide this with the home page UI being heavily influenced by Canva. But unfortunately Expresses' usability isn't as sharp as Canva when it comes to design - I find it a bit clunky and difficult to get around in, and it takes noticeably longer to achieve a similar outcome (granted I'm used to Canva). Canva are completely focussed in their area of accessible design tools for people who may or may not be designers, and this has resulted in some really cool new tools to allow ideas to flow more freely their unlimited canvases are excellent for mood boards, mind maps and project planning, and for collaboration. I've also used Adobe products for decades and will continue to, but I still don't think Express is at the point where it's worth moving to. I'll check in periodically and one day I might. It's cool to update AI files inside it and the brand kits look good, and blend modes too! Interesting times.
Thanks for your comment and your thoughts. Really interesting. Adobe Express isn't perfect, and certainly Canva is ahead in certain features. Personally I don't find it clunky at all, but perhaps that's because I've been using it for a while. It's always a bit tricky moving from one app that you're use to, to another one. Have you tried the new version of Express yet? Sounds like you have, since you refer to firing AI files inside it. I think the ability to use Creative Cloud app files such as Photoshop and Illustrator so powerful. I also love Firefly AI right inside it too.
Thanks, Jaco. It's easy to forget that Creative Cloud subscribers have access to Adobe Express. And it's really cool that you can access PS and AI files within Adobe Express. Glad you found the video helpful.
Adobe Express, like Canva, can make long form videos as well as short form. Personally, I prefer to use a tool like Adobe Express for shorter form content and leave dedicated video editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro etc for longer form.
I have been using Canva for a year. Simple and easy. I will use Adobe Express from now on to try. I use Canva makeup. Great add-on. Does express have makeup? Can you make a photo bigger with AI? Example. photo of the outside of the house and I want a larger photo with landscape for AI. There will be several more questions for you if you don't mind
Thanks for your comment. Canva is a great tool, don't get me wrong. But Adobe have been packing more and more amazing features into Adobe Express. Photoshop allows you to expand photos. I don't think Adobe Express has that yet, but watch this space. It does have generative fill. What do you mean by Canva makeup? Let me know and I'll do my best to help.
I'm just decided to use Adobe Express too... Main reason being Canva always crashes and says I'm offline when I'm not... It's good for about 30 mins, but then just becomes unresponsive. Goodbye Canva... Hello Adobe Express!
Thanks, Paul. Glad you're enjoying Adobe Express. I've never had an issue with Canva crashing myself. But I love the interface in Adobe Express, the new AI features, integration with Creative Cloud and more. Enjoy!
Well done, mate! Outstanding tutorial. One friendly suggestion...please delete the music track. It's a massive, no-benefit distraction from your otherwise excellent content.
Thanks for your comment. As I said in the video, there's no such thing as the perfect tool, and choosing the best tool is very much a personal thing. It really depends on which are the most important features for you. Canva definitely has a great animated sticker library. I'm sure Adobe Express will be adding this in the future.
Sounds like total paid....I have used both...Adobe express is just slow laggi and just not usefull ...went back to canva in just 2 days.... Canva kills Adobe express
Thanks for your comments. When it comes to tools like Adobe Express and Canva, a lot of it comes down to personal preference. That's what I say in the video. If you watched the video and still prefer Canva, that's great. Adobe Express isn't perfect, but I love the features and the direction they are going in. It works really well with my workflow, especially since I am an Adobe Creative Cloud user.

Thanks for sharing, Ian! Such a comprehensive look at the new Adobe Express!
Thanks. The new Adobe Express has so many amazing new features it was difficult to squeeze them into just one video.
Thank you for sharing! Insightful!
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Glad you found it insightful. Let me know how you get on with Adobe Express.
Though I have been using PS, AI, ID for a long time, this is my first time trying out Adobe Express. Thanks for this video!

Can we use express to make RUclips videos? Not shorts I mean.
I want to make videos what’s the best tool. I have all the Adobe suit.

Hey Anderson!
really nice video!
I was wondering do you need an editor or thumbnail designer for your videos?
let me know if you need designer.
Good comparison - Thank you - Does Adobe have AI Voice over?
Cost wise which one is more affordable?
There's really not much in it - they're pretty much the same cost-wise. They both have generous free plans too.

I think Canva still has more to offer with its elements and animated stickers library.

@@ianandersongray good with some competition, its making things more cheap and better for us ;)
Adobe express only have 20000 photos, but together with fx pixabay, with a LOT more, you are pretty well covered :)
And you have Adobe Firefly so you can effectively create an infinite number of different images and photos.
Nah, canva is better for non graphic designer. wise price. friendly interface
Team Adobe Express!
Sounds like total paid....I have used both...Adobe express is just slow laggi and just not usefull
...went back to canva in just 2 days.... Canva kills Adobe express
Also canva had collab feature since loooong.
one main reason i like adobe (i prefer canva) is that i can take anything i make and easily copy and paste it into Illustrator
