The mushroom pudding is chawanmushi - it's steamed egg. It's one of the most comforting homey dishes. I love it when my mother makes it. It's like an asian comfort food like mac and cheese. It's not a pudding, haha.
I love that you try and eat so many different types of foods! I know so many people that would be disgusted or make a huge deal out of the mini prawns, but you just say "they look so cool" and it's so humbling and cool :)
Fleur. You travelled so much to so many fancy places. That's so exciting. That's really lots of fun. Enjoy. Stay safe. Thanks for taking us along. It looks like the Cherry Blossoms in Washington.
FYI Fleur, those ladies in the park were NOT dressed as Geishas, they just wore traditional kimonos, which used to be worn by lots of women in Japan...xD I'm not blaming you (unlike OTHERS) for not knowing this, but thought you should know for future references.. xD
I love that you do such in-depth shots and talk about the different foods you try when you're abroad its some of my favourite bits of your vlogs 😍😍 keep up your great work. Adore your edits. xx
It has pretty basic Japanese flavors I think (shoyu, mirin, dashi) so I think the texture threw her off. If she's ever had flan or silken tofu those would be the closests foods to describe chawanmushi.
Fleur, you are in absolutely amazing places, Thank you so much for sharing all of these awsome adventures with us!!! Much appreciated! ❤️👍🏻😘 Enjoy the rest of your travel, have a good time in Japan!
Isn't tokyo the most beautiful and unique city?! 💕 It's my favourite place in the world, this vlog makes me miss it so much 😢 PS the thing on the Asahi building is meant to be a flame but the locals call it the golden turd 😂
Because of the time zone in my country I woke up with a vlog and in the afternoon there was another vlog! This is amazing hahaha I really enjoy it, greetings from Mexico :D
There is a very funny story for that gold statue you saw on the interactif bord in Tokyo Skytree. The artist wanted it to be vertically displayed so it would look like a flame but it was to dangerous so they layed it flat an now everyone things it looks like poop haha! love japan
You are one very lucky lady Mrs. FDF because Japan is one of my dream locations! I would love to go to Japan! I am both happy for you being able to go there and slightly jealous too!
My boss is in Japan just now and she commented that the trains are so much better over there then in Scotland. The turning chairs are fab. Also love the Tarte mini palette 💖
Watching you put on your make up at the beginning reminded me...can you do a no foundation/natural make up look on your main channel!!??? love the videos!
Watched all your Japan vlogs and really really enjoyed them! It seemed like an amazing trip tiring I suppose but amazing! Cannot wait to see more of your adventures 😀
Geisha are NOT courtesans. They are hostesses and entertainers, they play music, dance play games and have conversations with their guest. Not all geisha wear shiro-nuri (the white face makeup) either, some wear a more "western style" makeup and hairstyle.
Cherry Blossom gorgeousness! V a s t beauty of that enormous city! There are so many cool gadgets and "apps" for lack of a better word ... viewing the city through a touch screen. Too much! A must-have sushi binge (prediction) I hope, I hope ... for me ;-). Custard-fish-broth. Hmmm. I get the reaction. Really looking forward to the photo shoot. OK, NOW Japan is on my list. You are really rocking the town and doing a great service as a tourism spokeswoman! XO
Fleur's fine, its ok to not understand a culture so far from your upbringing i guess but her friends (maybe more like colleagues happened to be on the same trip) can be a little bit more open-minded and respectful to the new things they encounter at a foreign country.
Do the seats not turn around in England? The train that crosses Canada do, but the porters like for you to ask them to do it. the seats are heavy and I guess they don't want anyone to lose a finger. Don't know about the commuter trains in the cities though.
Part of me understands where you're coming from with food because I travel often but still have a lot of trouble with food, as I have a phobia that makes me tend to stick to "safe" foods. But through my study abroad/language learning experiences I've learned to approach unfamiliar food with more politeness and a more open mind, and I hope your friends do too. It's disappointing to see so many new experiences and ways of life wasted
Usually I love fleur vlogs but found this one very culturally insensitive and a little rude. It's a shame because I feel you didn't mean that to come across that way, but unfortunately it did. It's great that you are traveling and experiencing another country, but maybe think about the fact you are a tourist and should make an effort to be a little bit aware of your behaviour in terms of what is culturally polite and learn more about the cultural of the country you are visiting. I hope this comment isn't taken in the wrong way, but also feel my opinion is valid :)
What a treat .. I honestly love these Vlogs .. vloggers need to venture more out of America and Europe .. but those ladies aren't Geishas .. I think they were just in a kimono
Really all these comment about how Fleur behaves are ridiculous, I'm pretty sure none of you are perfect and if Fleur has to watch everything she does and says her vlogs will be very boring. I love that I get to see place I probably never will get to visit, in such an honest and natural way. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK FLEUR!
Of course not everyone can be perfect, but I know I'd like to know if I'd done or said something rude or stupid. Fleur just made a couple of mistakes, and people are pointing them out to her.
I love your videos but just to let you know those women werent dressed up as geishas. Theyre just wearing their country's traditional clothing and the mushroom pudding thing is actually eggs!
I'm sorry but I would hate to travel with Lucy. She seems so culturally insensitive. I don't expect them to know and like everything but the least you could be is open minded and also be mindful of your actions. Comes off as very offensive and rude.
She said it was sponsored by Panasonic, which is why they visited the factory the other day. Don't really understand why they've paid for them to go there though
Note to self: Do NOT watch the videos while commuting on the NYC subway....a very crowded subway btw. I just burst out laughing about the guy in the neighboring room watching porn, loudly. Now people have stepped away from me on the train.
The Asahi flame sculpture is the giant poo! About the hotel neighbor watching loud porn, why not just call the receptionist to call him and ask to lower the volume?
Fleur, I love how you try all the unknown food immediately and how open you are to new things. 👍🏻😊
I've never seen anyone do their makeup laying down lol 😂 great job 😻
I LOVE the time of year when Fleur vlogs everyday!! She is such a lovely person I look forward to her vlogs everyday 💜
The mushroom pudding is chawanmushi - it's steamed egg. It's one of the most comforting homey dishes. I love it when my mother makes it. It's like an asian comfort food like mac and cheese. It's not a pudding, haha.
That's interesting to know! Thanks for commenting :)
Japan seems other worldly. Those chairs on the bullet train were so cool!
I'm impressed that you have been trying the different new foods on the trip. I know so many picky eaters!
I love that you try and eat so many different types of foods! I know so many people that would be disgusted or make a huge deal out of the mini prawns, but you just say "they look so cool" and it's so humbling and cool :)
Fleur you are one of the most natural you tubers out there. Loved the story about the guy across the hall. This is what makes you so fun to watch.
Thanks Katharine :) xo
Fleur. You travelled so much to so many fancy places. That's so exciting. That's really lots of fun. Enjoy. Stay safe. Thanks for taking us along. It looks like the Cherry Blossoms in Washington.
Japan gave the cherry trees to Washington, D.C. as a gift in 1912. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Cherry_Blossom_Festival
FYI Fleur, those ladies in the park were NOT dressed as Geishas, they just wore traditional kimonos, which used to be worn by lots of women in Japan...xD I'm not blaming you (unlike OTHERS) for not knowing this, but thought you should know for future references.. xD

That wobbly soup is chawanmushi I think; like a custard egg thing :)
It is!
It's too bad she didn't enjoy the texture or flavor, it's so good.
Probably an acquired taste like many dishes from around the World.
Thanks so much for watching :) Love being able to share this with you all! xo
Fleur, you amaze me. I have no idea how you can last all day in heels OR how you do your make up so well whilst lying down!! 😍
Isn't tokyo the most beautiful and unique city?! 💕 It's my favourite place in the world, this vlog makes me miss it so much 😢
PS the thing on the Asahi building is meant to be a flame but the locals call it the golden turd 😂
OMG fleur you're going to have some fantastic memories from this trip hope you're having a great time.xx😀😀
I'm having the best time! Japan is so so cool! xo
Your daily vlogs are my favorite video's to watch. So happy that it is april. Have a nice rest of your trip in Japan.
Because of the time zone in my country I woke up with a vlog and in the afternoon there was another vlog! This is amazing hahaha I really enjoy it, greetings from Mexico :D
Yay! Thanks so much for watching! xo
watching these vlogs makes me really miss my Japan trips! my husband and I loved trying out all food
I properly freakout whenever im in the CN tower or high places like that, you seem so chill about it!
There is a very funny story for that gold statue you saw on the interactif bord in Tokyo Skytree. The artist wanted it to be vertically displayed so it would look like a flame but it was to dangerous so they layed it flat an now everyone things it looks like poop haha! love japan
That pudding looking thing is made of eggs and fish stock. I love it!
Those bullet train swivel seats and the bus seats definitely outshine the METRA flip seats by far.
Also, what a great sunset.
Love your vlogs! Just binge-watched all of April de Force 👌🏻😍 Japan looks so nice
These vlogs are amazing. I've been to Japan twice and I love it so much. One day I will take my daughters as they would love it 😊 xx
Glad you're enjoying Japan! Golden butternut squash is a lot nicer than what we call it in Japan -"golden poo". Lol 😂
Looool is that actually what you call it? So so funny! xo
FleurDeVlog Well, unofficially that is :)
Watching you put on your make up at the beginning reminded me...can you do a no foundation/natural make up look on your main channel!!??? love the videos!
Loved this vlog! Japan is definitely on my bucket list and now I want to go even more!
Watched all your Japan vlogs and really really enjoyed them! It seemed like an amazing trip tiring I suppose but amazing! Cannot wait to see more of your adventures 😀
that is chawanmushi! steamed egg with mushroom and veggie! i love that!
They're NOT dressed as Geisha! They're wearing traditional kimono/yokata! They look beautiful.
Yes, I noticed she said that, too. It's a bit of an faux pas, as Geisha are courtesans and have specific dress and makeup.
Geisha are NOT courtesans. They are hostesses and entertainers, they play music, dance play games and have conversations with their guest. Not all geisha wear shiro-nuri (the white face makeup) either, some wear a more "western style" makeup and hairstyle.
Fair comment, I'm sorry I didn't realise they wore Western makeup too now. Thanks for this.
Cherry Blossom gorgeousness! V a s t beauty of that enormous city! There are so many cool gadgets and "apps" for lack of a better word ... viewing the city through a touch screen. Too much! So happy for the april vlogs
No way. I was in Tokyo on the same day and also shot a blossom selfie at that spot in Shinjuku Gyoen! Love your Japan vids to bits.
It is actually steamed egg! (the mushroom pudding thing) The cherry blossoms look amazing! ^^
electronic town is Akihabara
haha "it's kind of what you would expect cellulite to taste like" omg, so funny!
its cool to see you so open to trying new foods... personally i like to say i don't like something without trying it lol
Love these vlogs!! Have an amazing trip! X
Thanks you :) xo
Been enjoying these vlogs, Fleur! ☺️
Loving the vlogs Fleur! I hope to go to Japan sometime in the next 5 years. I've never been and have always wanted to go and it looks amazing!
Thanks for watching! It's incredible... one of my fave ever places! xo
Loving your vlogs! Japan looks amazing 🇯🇵
Wow I did not know that bout the shinkansen seats, I wish I had known when I was there!
The yellow thing should be the foam/ bubbles on the top of the beer. They built it on purpose since it's a Asahii building....
Fleur's fine, its ok to not understand a culture so far from your upbringing i guess but her friends (maybe more like colleagues happened to be on the same trip) can be a little bit more open-minded and respectful to the new things they encounter at a foreign country.
Love this vlog series!! Keep it up!
Your Vlogs make me so happy!
Three videos popped up in the same day! Fun!
Awesome! Love these vlogs. I was in japan this time last year. made some videos too... omg your vlogs make me wanna go back there so bad
That mushroom pudding is actually called Chawanmushi. Or rather egg custard. It's steamed egg with meat, shrimp, gingko, shitake. (:
This video is so fun and great ❤️❤️
The "egg pudding" is actually chawanmushi ! It's steamed egg and it's my favourite dish😊💕
Doing makeup while lying down on the bed I've never done that. Now I want to xD
fleurr go buy CDG (Commes de Garcon) in japan! its sooo expensive in US and UK!
😂 Looks like you're all having a blast
That's an egg custard. It's savoury and it's really good lol
Does Lucy like anything?
Haha I love that you did your make up completely lying down in bed.
Do the seats not turn around in England? The train that crosses Canada do, but the porters like for you to ask them to do it. the seats are heavy and I guess they don't want anyone to lose a finger. Don't know about the commuter trains in the cities though.
So beautiful there :) also love the dress ♥️
Omg how do you even do your makeup like that on your bed LOL 👏👏👍
chawan mushi (egg custard with mushroom and broth) is weird for you?! What's Japanese food like in England?
there are alot of Cherry Blossoms in Washington DC. a gift from Japan a long time ago. Very pretty. JoanBates
Loving Japan vlogs!!!!
That mushroom soup is actually steamed egg with mushroom in it.
My best friend from high school lives in Tokyo! She is Japanese, much love to you Fleur from Boston MA, USA
So early , you seem so happy in Japan ☺️
Hi. Ill be visiting tokyo this April. Is it cold there in April? Thanks
Love travelling with you 😉
😃 Thanks for watching! xo
the "mushroom pudding "is actually steamed egg, hahah.quite nutritious.
I'm sure someone has said this before but traditional kimono does not automatically equate to geisha. Nevertheless really pretty shots in this vlog.
I would love to go to Japan one day
I have never done my makeup lying down. I think that would feel so awkward.
Where are your sunglasses from??
Part of me understands where you're coming from with food because I travel often but still have a lot of trouble with food, as I have a phobia that makes me tend to stick to "safe" foods. What necklace do you have on at the end of the vlog?
Usually I love fleur vlogs but found this one very culturally insensitive and a little rude. It's a shame because I feel you didn't mean that to come across that way, but unfortunately it did. It's great that you are traveling and experiencing another country, but maybe think about the fact you are a tourist and should make an effort to be a little bit aware of your behaviour in terms of what is culturally polite and learn more about the cultural of the country you are visiting. Great travel vlog Fleur!
Thanks Katrina! xo
What a treat .. I honestly love these Vlogs .. vloggers need to venture more out of America and Europe .. but those ladies aren't Geishas .. I think they were just in a kimono
Hey Fleur , I was just wondering why are you in Japan?
xxx - Meg
Is it as clean as it looks in Japan?
Cindi Hansen yes,it is!❤️🇯🇵❤️
please please please can someone tell me where the yellow dress is from please????
you're so lucky Fleur
Does anyone know where her sunglasses are from?
While the cats away the mice will play (& test drive fab cars..maybe buy one? lol)
I'm loving her japan blogs but I bet it doesn't ALWAYS smell so please don't do that. Makes me a little bit sad
Really all these comment about how Fleur behaves are ridiculous, I'm pretty sure none of you are perfect and if Fleur has to watch everything she does and says her vlogs will be very boring. ahaha its steamed egg with mushrooms!
I love your videos but just to let you know those women werent dressed up as geishas. Theyre just wearing their country's traditional clothing and the mushroom pudding thing is actually eggs!
That pudding thing....uh... is actually eggs.
Are you there on business or just vacation?
Virginia lohrey business with Panasonic
a kw Thank you.....I just love watching her videos. ......
I'm sorry but I would hate to travel with Lucy. She seems so culturally insensitive. I don't expect them to know and like everything but the least you could be is open minded and also be mindful of your actions. Comes off as very offensive and rude.
Is this a sponsored trip? I don't mind if so just curious if it's a coincidence you, Evan, Dodie, Estee and Bry are all in Tokyo?
She said it was sponsored by Panasonic, which is why they visited the factory the other day. Don't really understand why they've paid for them to go there though
Note to self: Do NOT watch the videos while commuting on the NYC subway....a very crowded subway btw. I just burst out laughing about the guy in the neighboring room watching porn, loudly. Now people have stepped away from me on the train.
Hahahah 🙈🙈🙈 xo
That's a positive as it gives you a bit more room lol
Very true, but the LOOKS were bad too. Clearly no one laughs on the trains here. But now I know what to do if i ever want a seat. ;)
HAHAHA!!!
The Asahi flame sculpture is the giant poo! About the hotel neighbor watching loud porn, why not just call the receptionist to call him and ask to lower the volume?
Eel?
Don't think that's a 'mushroom pudding'...I think its steamed beaten eggs with mushrooms
texture is a funny thing in Japan, they seem to love that gelatinous type of food, I'm ok with it if it's sweet but not savoury.
